Re: Would Monk Be in the HOF if?

If only he hadn't had been hurt during the first two Super Bowl winning seasons.

In 82, he was our primary target but got hurt against the Cardinals in the last game of the season. He missed the playoffs and our win against the Dolphins.

In 87, Monk was injured again and a nonfactor in the playoffs and the Super Bowl, where he had only one catch. Meanwhile, his replacement Sanders went off that day.

Being essentially a nonfactor during those two championship runs lends evidence to those who say he never had any signature moments--since these sort of moments only occur (or at least are immortalized) during the playoffs and Super Bowl.
