Re: Pre-training camp power rankings from Peter King

I hate all this "pre-camp", "pre-season" ranking crap. It's equivelant to a bunch of women sitting in a hairdressers talking about shoes. Regardless of whether or not P. King gives the Skins "some love" (hate that expression) he is, and always will be, a donkey cock.

we will be lucky to go in our divison 3-3 that would be a great year for us. 2-2 in the afc if were lucky so thats 5-5 we will lose to chi, ariz and gb and tb. to go 7-9 or if were lucky 8-8.

I hope you're wrong...we've had enough of those seasons.

Nothing like a good old positive post uh?

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Carter played well down the stretch, Montgomery is coming around, and griffin is solid. Throw in the new LB system, and the new secondary, and our D LINE will look a whole lot better.
I agree we should have addressed the issues, but we didn't, so we need to make what we have work. The secondary is strong now and that was more of an issue than anything last year. We'll have pressure from the LB's too.

Re: Pre-training camp power rankings from Peter King

I seem to remember everybody being pretty confident we would beat Minnesota at home in the Monday Night season opener last year.

I see the same type of confidence with Miami too.

After the outright pathetic embarassment of 2006, no opponent should be taken lightly this year. Unless the Redskins start out hot, the burden of proof is on them to tell the skeptics and naysayers how wrong they are.

Come on, does anyone really deny that 2006 was the absolute worst season for the Redskins in living memory? I know '93 and '94 were worse in total wins, but in terms of expectations, let's not forget how awful it truly was. I think everyone here was completely sucker-punched as far as how bad our team was.

Until Art Monk is in the Hall, nothing Peter King writes should show up on this board. A total boycott of all that is Peter King. He may have changed his mind as well as his vote but the damage had already been done, Art is not in because of King's previous actions. ART IN THE HALL!!

This seems right to me, especially when you're looking at the media--what have we done to be higher than 24th right now? We don't deserve ANY love, until we actually show we are a better team. King was actually pretty balanced here, IMO.

(And I fully agree with the "training camp rankings are silly" sentiment! God, I can't wait for actual football!!!)

I agree with that...but you can still think positive. I feel like when I think positive I help the team to think positive. (as corny as that sounds) If we, teh fans, don't think positive for our team, who will?
So what happens if we are 5-1 after 6...or even 4-2? What will you be saying?

i would be thrilled. I would love nothing better than have a winning record after 6 games. To have a chance to go to the playoffs we have to be at least 4-2.

Why do people think they're smarter than coaches?? We as fans dont know what is going on at practice. For all we know Phillip Daniels could be looking like he's in the best shape of his life right now. I trust the coaches they say we dont need major additions to the Dline I believe them. They're the ones watching all the game footage, they're the ones that actually knew who was out of place. All we have to rely on is the pathetic camera angles of Fox5 and maybe a instant replay. The skins defense never relied on a dominant DE or DT. If u check the stats our great players were at LB or CB or S and guess what now we have the right personnel to play skinsD. (I guess we could always bring back Charles Mann and Dexter Manley)

I am saying the skins will win 2 or 3 more this year than last and then predicting double didgit wins next year and I'm being pessimistic? If you say so.

Re: Pre-training camp power rankings from Peter King

oh yeah I have the skins going 4-2 in the NFC East split with Dallas and Phl. 2-2 in the AFC East. 3-1 in the NFC North and ending the season 11-5. That's not just based on talent but also Home vs Away games, bye weeks and surrounding games.
