You're ready to make this conclusion on 7 passing attempts??

What do you think a rookie 6th round DE would be doing?

Are Trucks and Blades both gunna make the team?
And if so, that would mean we would carry 7 LBs (unless the cut Khary Campbell)...and it would mean Sartz would be on the practice squad

He'd be like a bullet out of a gun.
All over the QB of course.
What more would you expect from a 6th round pick?
(Sarcasm)

Might be a long season regardless. All hinges on how CP is. JC is sharp, but he is only half of the equation on offense. No depth at all in the DB. If Smooty, Rogers, or Springs goes down we are screwed. We honestly did end up wasting a pick on Palmer. A 6th rounder is never a keeper at QB.

Re: Skins v Jags chat

At this point, I am thinking they want to get an extended look at the conditioning of the Defense to see who can handle it.
They've got tough cuts at LB....That explains why they keep Palmer in...they know it is 3 and out every time.
Its all part of the Grand Plan!

You might want to run that by Tom Brady.

Gus, excellent point on 6th rounder never a keeper at QB....
Remember, we all wanted a guard or dline or something....anything at a need position

He would be fighting for a starting job on the Washington Redskins most likely, at the very least as a 2nd stringer. Why do I say this? Simple supply and demand, as well as the nature of the position. DE is probably easier to pick up than a QB going on to the pro level, plus the fact that we are in dire need of youth and the speed that comes with it(DE position). It is a higher probability that a 6th round DE could be better than Wynn than say a 6th round QB is better than JC or even MB for that matter.

Never? Are you sure? Have you heard of this guy, I can't quite remember his name, I think it's like Tom Brady or something, either way, he was a 6th rounder for New England in 2000, and from what I hear he's a pretty good quarterback, won something like 3 Super Bowls or some crap like that.

All I'm trying to say is that you are expecting too much out of Palmer.

EDIT: Damnit Matty you beat me to it lol.

Thats like saying we should have kept Bramlet cause NFL Europe generated a couple good QBs....you know this is RARE....very RARE.
And the Redskins scouting dept aint gunna be the ones to find them.
Top 2 pick for the skins are the only ones that seem to do anything.
Blades might be a good story for us...but that is not a stand alone position like a QB

Re: Skins v Jags chat

Finally this massive beating is over.

I agree people are crapping on Palmer too much. The guy's still a kid. He didn't really practice all that much prior to this game.

Of course he's practice squad fodder this year but if they decide to keep him around he could develop into a pretty good QB or at least a decent backup. But to expect him to come out and throw bombs and TDs is expecting too much.

Guess who was a 6th round pick in last year's draft and is now the #2 defensive tackle?

Guess what tight end we drafted in the 3rd round of 2004 and is now one of the best tight ends in the league?

Guess what running back returns kicks for us and is also the 3rd string running back that was drafted in the 7th round in 2002?

Guess what undrafted player has started at left tackle for all 4 preseason games and is most likely gonna make the squad as a backup at left tackle?

Do you get the point now? The Redskins are not absolutely horrible when it comes to finding talent in the latter rounds of the draft.
