Jim Johnson consistantly has a top notch D that forces turnovers and gets points off of those turnovers. McNabb prior to being hurt last season and previous was having pretty damn good years and has multiple pro bowls under his belt.

As for the Eagles, I sincerely believe they are at the end of the line. Good coaches can stitch to gether a few wins with inferior players for a while, but not forever. As for McNabb, the fact that Jeff Garcia was able to perform better than him in the offense last year is indicative of how average he actually is. All the talk was of his brilliant resurgence and yet his completion percentage was 54% - the same as Campbell's. Also, Trotter going down any time in the last four years would be the best thing that could happen to a defense. He was a liability for them 75% of the time.

They've had multiple opportunities to win the big games and they always fail because they aren't good enough. McNabb isn't good enough. When they crash, they will crash in a big way and I say it's this year.

I agree with you on McNabb:overrated due to great help from his receivers (evidenced by insanely high YAC the last three years), but even with all the Westbrook in the world, he should still get some credit for always finding the guy in space. After all, that is the same pro-Brunell argument that I firmly believe applies to all players: although consistent YAC is mostly the duty of the WR, some QBs (like Brunell and McNabb among others) are inherently better at getting the ball into open space. However, I think when push comes to shove, I can name 10 better passers in the NFL than McNabb.

The projections rate the Eagles passing game out really high, and I believe that will hurt them this year. That defense is no where near what it once was, and the passing game is easy to overrate. With that said, they are still the team to beat in the NFC and Westbrook is the best football player (at any position) in the NFC.

We are not a better team than the Eagles right now. There is no question. Luckily for us, the crowned NFC East champion is not measured by the best team. It's measured by wins. So if we can get one more win than the guys up the road, we win the division.

Westbrooke is fantastic. No argument there.

In watching them a couple times this year, though, it is difficult for me to figure out how, J.J., as brilliant as he is, is going to be able to stop the run. I just don't see it. And I think a team that can't stop the run is a team that can't win.

It seems like there would be one person in the press willing to go out on a limb and say, you know what the Eagles have lost something here. It's lame to say "But the Eagles have done this and that for so long." Then just show us last years standings. Don't pretend you're making a prediction when you're just recapping last year. It's a little too safe.

Take the case of N.O. They're all behind the Saints this year. A year too late. I agree, the Saints are a good club, but we already know that. I want someone to tell me who this years Saints are. The fact is they have no idea. Just like they have no idea that the Eagles are going to lose this season.

Also, I think Phillys YAC yards are high because of all the screens. Imagine Donovan's completion % if he were in an offense that isn't based almost entirely around screen passes.

They have won the division how many years in a row, nfc champs how many years in a row. to say they are not any good is just homerish. how anyone can say the Eagles are down and out is beyond me. they have not done anything to suggest that. put down the bugandy shades dude and look at it clearly.

I'll look at it however I want. They've won the division exactly one years in a row. The Eagles will stop winning at some point. I say its this year. And don't call me dude.
