First of all, what's all the talk about him sitting out. He said he want's out of the orginization, but he clearly states he WILL PLAY OUT THE REST OF HIS CONTRACT. The signing bonus point is good, but in the long run would save NE money to cut him, and he even offered to buy it out. Which to me says how much he really no longer wants to be in NE.
I don't think a player of Law's stature should have to take a paycut after he had an incrediable season and took them to a Super Bowl. He's not happy within the orginization and ASKED to be let out. Is he demanding anything? Is he going to sit out? As far as I'm concerned with all the trades/cuts going on, why not ask. You might just get your wish. Sure he can stay on the Pats pay roll for two years making a shitload of money and not restructure or want to be there. Or they could trade him for another player and picks (I hear Seattle is willing to let Alexander go for a CB) and I bet you they use 1 of the 1st rounders on a CB.
