What doesn't make sense on that play is that they cleared out the backfield, why on 4th and short you don't have a RB in the backfield to make the defense respect the run is stupid, once you clear out the backfield you become 1 dimensional, play action in that situation if you decide to throw it is a big advantage to forcing LB's to commit to the run opening the short routes, the fact that we only needed 2 yards allows the defense to start jumping the short routes which in turn gets you a 1 yard pass on 4th and 2, and it's not the first time they have went with that set the last couple of years in those type of situations.
