How are you certain he wasnt pissed? I suspect he was really pissed but kickers (like baseball pitchers) have to maintain their poise and cool.

I'm going to write him and ask that next time he misses a FG to go to the sidelines and throw his helmet and knock over the drink table.

Good idea, then Earthquake would know he was pissed that he missed a FG.

Anybody else take notice of his tackle on that kick return? He's a little dude but came flying down the field and made a nice tackle. I couldn't believe the announcers ignored it.

They didn't ignore it. They pointed it out and showed a replay of him making a huge tackle...then noticed he was limping around on the sideline.

What a difference a month makes...at this time last month, he missed a kick, and people were calling for his head. Since then, he's 10-11, with the only miss coming on Sunday from 49.

Re: Is Our Kicker Doing A Good Job??

He is 14 for 17 in FG's, 82%. He is 100% in kicking field goals from 20-29 yards and 80% from 30-39 and 75% from 40-49. He's having a pretty good season, definately better then what we're usually used to seein from the Redskins kicking game. He is struggling in one part of his game though, and that is kick offs... He is almost last in kickoff yardage and average yardage.

Re: Is Our Kicker Doing A Good Job??

Suisham was obviously perfect on FGs in the Jets game when we needed every last kick, but my big complaint is his inconsistent kickoffs. It was a pathetically short kickoff that led to Leon Washington's opening TD return that game. Even against Dallas, some of his kicks failed to get much inside the 10 yard line. We really need a guy who can consistently put it around the goal line. I saw Sam Swank of Wake Forest earlier this year - that kid has a rocket for a leg. I wouldn't mind bringing in a guy like that for a little competition.

He's definitely not a big leg. But he's consistent from the range that you would expect a field goal to be made, which is good since you know what you can count on. That's another reason I was surprised we went for the 50 yarder against dallas.

Those numbers are fine, and considering the trouble the Skins have had with kickers for the past 10 years, I find it difficult to believe that Suisham is even being questioned right now, especially considering that he has been very good in the clutch (remember Dallas last year?)

Re: Is Our Kicker Doing A Good Job??

Hard to argue with 5 field goals in one game...as far as him getting upset after a missed Field Goal, I agree with irish, a good kicker is like a good closer in baseball, they stay in their shoes and throw every pitch or attempt every kick like they've done it a hundred times before...

His FG% is above Vinatieri and Elam, and for those that think he's a never will be, the same thing was said about Shayne Graham when Cincinnati picked him up after he was waived by three other teams...

Shazzam will be fine, he's only 25 and this is only his 3rd season...hell he's practically a rookie.

His miss against Dallas was as streight as could be the problem was it started 2 feet off the mark. If he hit it straight it would have been good.
