I don't agree with the sentiment that all the blame should be laid at the feet of Saunders and Gibbs. But I imagine this is what upsets some people. And there are others who just like to be upset.

We do need to keep him on the roster, and though I believe we would be better off if he was one of our inactives, as long as he's outplaying Caldwell, we can't just not use him ever. He's just not a very good player. He's capable of basic receiver function, but that's about it. We are paying 5 mil a year to him for spectacular catches, and that's just stupid on our part.

My only problem with the calls is when they are called as plays that just won't work. Like 3rd and three out routes into a non existant window on the sideline.

Re: Time for the Jets
I have dogged him a lot too, I'm just starting to get very worried that we don't have any possession receivers that can go up and get the ball on third down or in the endzone...I feel like lloyd and mccardell are the closest things.
It was obviously a mistake to sign him for that money, and hopefully snyder will learn from that and hire a GM at some point. Imagine what we coulda done with that money.

And to be fair, Saunders' KC offense had one of the better offensive lines in football, and arguably one of the best one/two punch's ever with Holmes and Johnson. |

By blaming Saunders and Gibbs for this, we are really badly nitpicking. Yes, there are things they could be doing better, but don't we as fans have better stuff to do than talk about the calls. It's not like these calls are serious issues or anything. Well, except the third and short crap.

Re: Time for the Jets
Sorry, just trying to work with what we have. We can't bring in new players. I just think Jason is something special, and he is capable of saving our season, with the proper playcalling. But i'm probably tainted as a skins fan.

Re: Time for the Jets
I don't know what to say about the game this weekend. As I've said in other posts...Yes, we are definitely hindered by the injuries the team has suffered, and that didn't get any better this past weekend. However, face it, we just aren't anything more than an average football team right now, and that is only thanks to our defense. If our defense wasn't as good as it has been so far, we wouldn't even be considered average. We'd probably be 1-7 just like the Jets. The offense just stinks.
All that being said, if we beat the Jets..."IF"... then we'll be two back of Dallas and we still play them twice. Playoffs are a possibility since we are in the weak NFC, but if you think this team would last more than a week in the post season, I want some of what you are smoking. |
