I'd like to see Ramsey get a shot. But do we want a coach who doesn't stick up for his players? I think Gibbs feels that if he made the switch he'd basically be saying "I give up on this season"

That's exactly what the message would be. To bring Ramsey in who doesn't know or understand the plays and struggle to get the play in on time and then read the defense is telling Brunell, I'd rather have a young QB whose totally out of sink with my system than have you in with a struggling offense.

It would also be placing some blame on Brunell if he makes the switch.

Look, the bottom line is Brunell is taking way too much heat for the offensive struggles. The entire unit needs to play better.

Switching QB's is not a quick fix and I think that's the message Gibbs is trying to get across.

The only way the team is going to turn this around is to keep battling and believing in what they're doing.
