Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
when we made the playoffs last time we made huge changes and it hurt us the next year, lets not do the same thing here. make a few changes but keep most of the team in tact, keep the same system, etc.

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
Totally agree, I think adding a wide out, D end and some depth at our other positions is the way to go. Also, maybe a veteran safety to push Reed Doughty would not be a bad idea

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
O-Line definitely needs improvement. I know we've been hurt this year with the line, but this is an area of concern. We need a safety to replace Doughty. IF they can, try drafting Kenny Phillips from the University of Miami (FL). He's a pretty bad ass safety for them. At wideout, give Mix a chance to prove himself. He and Campbell did well at Auburn. As much as I hate to say this, we need to consider trading or cutting some of our marquee players to get draft picks. Daniel Snyder gave away a bunch of draft picks to get players. We need to allow Coach Gibbs to build the team like he did in the past, where he took no-namers and mad them pro bowlers. I like Coach Gibbs, but get a GM in there and let Coach Gibbs focus on coaching. As far as DE goes, I'm sure there's some good college prospect out there or NFL player with a few years on that isn't a superstar, but is pretty good and could become a star in this system. Overall, we need to build a team that we can have consistent runs over several years, not a year here and a year there. Look at New England, Dallas, Indy, Philly, etc. Just my thoughts. There's always next year, guys. Like 2Pac said, gotta keep your head up.

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
I'm fine with our WRs. I'd like to add one with height, but Randle El really came on as a solid #2 this season. When Moss has been healthy down the stretch, he has made a number of huge plays, including another long TD catch today. If Collins had been given better protection today, he surely would have made more plays. If we need to draft/invest anywhere, I say get a 2-way DE in the first round, and use the rest of the draft to bolster the O-line.

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
I only remember one that Caldwell missed, and it was well defended. Was there something else? I've been very impressed with his play this year. He's stepped up when asked to.

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
I like Caldwell as a 2/3 next year. You can make wholesale changes at WR when your QB is Tom Brady and/or one of those guys is Randy Moss. In our case, however, with a young QB trying to grasp a complex system some consistency at the WR is key.

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
Next year we get Espi back, Moss, ARE will be back try that kid Mix (great special teamer) draft another burly WR and we are ok. Either McCardell or Caldwell for depth.

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
Neither Espy nor Mix has proven anything to be counted on as go to guys, let alone ahead of Caldwell.

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
I have a good feeling about both. Mix has been a great special teamer for us the last 5 games.

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
I'm not sold on Caldwell. Something about him just screams "unreliable". Maybe it's all the drops.
But seriously, I hate to reuse a hallowed nickname but I wonder if he's not a poor man's 50/50. About half the time he makes good plays but the other half he seems like a liability. McCardell was far more reliable this season than Caldwell, if only he weren't 65 years old. As far as the other receivers, the only one I am set on is Randle El. Even though I think he's more than capable of being a WR1, he will probably be a guy like Houshmandzadeh who is a bigger threat when he's a WR2 across from another home run threat, than being the central figure in the passing game. The question is, what's going on with Santana? He'll always be a legend here after the Fedex Air Delivery Miracle against Dallas a few years ago, but I wonder if he's still got it all together. Sure didn't look like it tonight.
