So I'm about halfway through the first episode of the new American Gladiators and so far I'm really disappointed. It's really boring so far and I hate that they keep randomly jumping to commercials in the middle of events. For as much hype as this show has been getting I thought they'd put more effort into it.

It's really cheesy, but not in that good kind of cheesy that I was hoping for. Between Hulk Hogan, Lila Ali, the personality-less gladiators, the over rehearsed interviews with the contestants, and the boring disembodied voice that's announcing the simplified events I don't think this will last very long. There's also a severe lack of mullets, which was half the fun of the original. Maybe I just need to see the assault and the eliminator and then I'll be happy.

Initially I was like you, but after I watched a bit more I liked it. There are pluses and minuses.

As for the negatives, sometimes they pan the camera around really fast, and they change angles too quick. It takes a while to get use to. Also they added different events so people might be irked. In the plus side, the competitions have become alot harder. Some may think too hard, but it is noticeably more difficult. They have many of the old events, which is also good. Also the female gladiators are extremely hot this time around lol. All in all, it wasn't too bad. I think it's kinda cool, obviously not exactly like the old one, but hey that is what ESPN Classic is for right?

From what I've seen so far, the show looks fake. It looks just like another version of "pro" wrestling. As for it being to hard, watch some of the reruns of Ninja Warrior. It makes this show look like a elementary school playground.

Also I really don't feel you can compare Ninja Warrior to Gladiators. You can only compare the old ones to the new one.

I watched it but it was horrible compared to what I had before. It was over-produced. It was like watching a documentary or something. They replayed that lady getting hurt WAY too many times, the interviews were so cheesy. The announcer, if that's what you want to call him was just as corny as you could get. I'll give it another chance, but it was between that and lowering my IQ but watching the I Love New York Reunion Show. New York won, and my brain lost....

I thought it was cheesy in the good way. I was laughing the whole time.

That Wolf guy makes me want to stab someone though. He's trying WAY too hard to tell everyone that he's supposed to be the Wolf. It's WAY rougher this time. Already, one competitor and one Gladiator are out.
