Re: Dick Vermeil
This guy is a joke hes all over the place, I don't think he knows what he wants? Hes talking to the Falcons just to say NO, like he has done to everyone other team for years.
I don't understand why teams are even interested in this guy, he never did much in the NFL to begin with. He belongs in college level ball right where hes at. Plain and simple answer to the question of him coming to DC: NO

Re: Dick Vermeil
Both you guys are right, I missed the DV! I had just finished watching the PC thing on ESPN.....brain fart, getting old I guess.
On to Dick I hadn't heard his name come up in a long while. Last thing I heard about him he was happy doin the wine thing in CA....? I hope we aren't going back to the dinosaur age, if I had to guess hes well done. No more tears.

Re: Dick Vermeil
I've got to echo the sentiments felt here. DV simply won't want to come back.
I still want to stay in house, but the Danny appears to want to go outside. I wonder what his relationship with GW is like. Also, I kind of think that maybe GW wants to stay at D-coordinator. To be honest... I could see something like (let's say Joe Bugel leaves too... I mean come on, He is pretty old) Russ Grimm coming in and having the general oversight of the team, but concentrate his actual coaching on the offensive line. I mean what kind of perks does HC really have? Why would GW want to change his situation. It's not like he's underpaid right now. It just seems like it would make a lot of sense to me.

That said though, I think it's more likely that he does want it and more likely that he gets it. Unless it's already established contractually beforehand that an assistant will ascend to the HC role within the same organization, the rules state that you have to interview (and don't forget the Rooney Rule). It can be a charade of interviews while you know all along who your choice is, but it's better for the team to say "We haven't begun the process" than "We know we plan on selecting Williams but we'll just bs with some other candidates for a couple of weeks so no one thinks we didn't at least look." Make Ray Brown offensive line coach!

Re: Dick Vermeil
I think the world of Vermeil, but I doubt it could be so. If it is not GW, he would be my next choice. The man always reminded me of Gibbs, anyway. As a kid I remember thinking they looked and sounded alike. They also seemed to coach in similar manors.
