Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
I doubt the Redskins will pick him up. Dan Snyder doesn't pick up idiots like Chad Johnson that brings drama to the locker room and acts like a moron on the field. No thanks.

Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
I would love to have Chad on the Redskins. Think of it...Chad running down the field, even in covered he still has alost a foot on every other defender in the NFL, and Jason sees him, TD Redskins. We NEED a receiver Jason can consistently throw too down the feild. It will give Jason the much needed confidence he needs and open up the running game because the opponents safeties are forced to cover down the feild. I say go after him.

Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
This is the perception that caused Johnson to shun the Cincy media this season. He's a character, and seems generally likable, but you get some shots of him and Carson Palmer going at it on the sidelines, or him talking about his next touchdown celebration, and he is viewed as a locker room cancer. Let's be clear, Chad isn't Pac Man Jones, he's never destroyed a locker room or alienated a QB like T.O. or Randy Moss, he's never been sent packing a la Keyshawn in Tampa. He's outspoken, that's what he is, that is his game. I wouldn't have a problem with him in D.C. if there weren't the issues of draft pick and monetary compensation.
The bigger issue it seems to me, and I bring this up anecdotally without having examined all the statistics or pouring over game tape, is that Johnson is more of a deep threat who is sporadic in his production (as deep threats tend to be) and who is not a guy who consistently moves the chains and he doesn't (I don't think, could be wrong here) score a lot of touchdowns in the red zone. Certainly he is a bit bigger than Santana, but is his game really all that different? Wouldn't the Redskins be better served by someone like (and again you'd have to think about the issues of compensation) Roy Williams or Larry Fitzgerald if either came available? As someone said above, if Hue Jackson does end up as OC then I could see the possibility of Johnson landing in D.C., for good or ill, go up.

Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
Since I hadn't looked at the statistics prior to my last post, here are some. They contradict some, but maybe not all, of what I said previously.
Chad Johnson - 6-1, 192 (i.e. not a foot taller than DB's as mentioned above) (29 years old) Total - 93 catches, 1,440 yds, 8 tds Opp 19-1 - 8 catches, 50 yds, 5 tds Opp 49-20 - 29, 391, 2 Own 1-20 - 10, 178, 0 Own 20-49 - 46, 821, 1 1st down catches - 74/93 - 79.6% (so he does more the chains) Compared to T.J. Houshmandzadeh, 6-1, 199 Total - 112 catches, 1,143 yds, 12 tds Opp 19-1 - 16, 115, 8 Opp 49-20 - 38, 429, 4 Opp 1-20 - 8, 81, 0 Opp 20-49 - 50, 518, 0 1st down catches - 70/112 - 62.5% Compared to Roy Williams, 6-3, 211 (26 years old) Total - 64 catches, 838 yds, 5 tds Opp 19-1 - 7, 49, 4 Opp 49-20 - 13, 152, 0 Opp 1-20 - 8, 152, 1 (almost all on that one play against Philly) Opp 20-49 - 36, 485, 0 1st down catches - 34/64 - 53.1% Compared to Santana Moss, 5-10, 200 (28 years old) Total - 61 catches, 808 yds, 3 tds Opp 19-1 - 3, 11, 1 (OUCH!) Opp 49-20 - 26, 360, 3 (note to NFL.com, those TDs don't add up right) Opp 1-20 - 10, 124, 0 Opp 20-49 - 28, 381, 0 1st down catches - 47/61 - 77.0% Compared to Chris Cooley Total - 66 catches, 781 yds, 8 tds Opp 19-1 - 9, 106, 6 Opp 49-20 - 28, 368, 2 Opp 1-20 - 5, 54, 0 Opp 20-49 - 29, 304, 0 1st down catches - 37/66 - 56% So it turns out Chad Johnson is pretty good. Would be a matter of compensation, which worries me since the Redskins have yet to end not overpay in a trade since Snyder has owned the team. We shall see.
