Re: Democratic Debate
I don't think that's an issue...There's always someone that wants to kill you when you're president and Obama is no exception. I mean, you think Bush can walk around freely?

Re: Democratic Debate
I think he has a much better chance of that than a White man. Trust me, to some people in the world, they don't see you as Black they just see you as a no good (Insert N word here).

Re: Democratic Debate
Umm...I happen to think America is ready for either a woman or a black man. I've spoken to southern whites that will vote for Barack and some men that are leaning toward Hillary. I understand the notion that people might not be ready for this or that, but one thing is for sure people are ready for change regardless of the candidate and regardless of which side of the aisle they're on.
Obviously I don't know any of this for sure because I haven't talked to every American But the handful that I have spoken to are leaning toward Hillary or Barack. I get the feeling that Edwards is lining himself up more and more for the VP nod. During his debates, his rhetoric tends to lean more towards Senator Obama's positions on a few issues. With each primary state that passes and the sparse number of delegates Edward's is being awarded, at some point it just becomes a numbers game and he'll have to bow out. But he'll grit his teeth until the last minute and then bow out. Afterward, I would fully expect him to endorse Senator Obama. |

Re: Democratic Debate
I am going to have to agree with DynamiteRave here. I think a Black president would be more hated than Bush is right now. We do have an extremely backwards society.
I feel like some people will simply vote Republican because Obama is Black(if he gets the Democratic Ticket).

Re: Democratic Debate
Not really related to the democratic debate, but I didn't feel like starting new thread about it. Fred Thompson has dropped out

Re: Democratic Debate
EDWARDS: ....I've committed not to have any corporate lobbyists working in my White House on the first day that I'm president. Will you make the same commitment?
Is that even something that he could stop as President. I feel thats one of those thing you say you will do then if elected you try to present a bill which you know will be voted down but then you can say you tried. I know the President cannot present a bill but you get the point. This idea of Obama and people hating him is from people up north watching too much TV about dumb southern hick guys. |
