If The Danny decided that he couldn't coexist with Gregg Williams, then I'm fine with him looking elsewhere. That said, I think he can do a lot better than Fassel. He could have been bold and gone for Jason Garrett or the Tennessee D-coordinator - young guys that could be your coach for the next 15 seasons. At best, I only see Fassel as a 4-5 year stopgap that will require us to make yet another change in a few short years. A Fassel hiring doesn't smell of long term stability to me.

Excellent post. I think at this point it's pretty obvious by the whole 4 interviews thing that GW and The Danny were pretty far apart on what direction to go with the team. I think GW is a relatively difficult guy. Apparently he didn't get a long with a lot of folks in Buffalo, and he buts heads with Vinny and Al.
I think on paper Fassel is a better head coaching candidate than Williams. But better enough to clean house? Not so sure about that.
