I respect you...but lets put down the antagonistic remarks. I expressed my opinion and you mock me. That is not what a high quality site like this is about. I just think Snyder is royally screwing up again and I'm sick of it. If you state an opinion, I respect it and don't ridicule it. Please pay me the same respect. We are Redskin Brothers, you know....even if we disagree.

Maybe, Maybe not. He does make some good points toward Danny boy being the same ole Danny boy.
Since it appears from the few posts I've noticed. You MODS seem to be behind Snyder and these moves. Do you think it's a good idea to wipe out an entire coaching staff & and bring in this HC thats being mentioned & his guys?

Re: Fassel, Ryan and Zorn, oh my!
If this so and the players refuse to take change in pay the over cap would be what if released as dead cap and they went to play for williams and saunders at there next job after they sit out a year and rest up
Bring back vinny's boys of Saunders, Smith and Carrier for another try The Mafia does not hire retreads like Vinny Now I know why =skinsfan_nn;411536]I wonder what in the heck is going threw Joes mind at this point? So much for continuity! PFT.com POSTED 5:01 p.m. EST, January 23, 2008 'SKINS INTERVIEW ZORN Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post reports that the Redskins have interviewed Jim Zorn for the position of offensive coordinator. That's presumably bad news for the team's current offensive coordinator, Don Breaux. And for the team's associate head coach-offense, Al Saunders. The flirtation with Zorn is an apparent precursor to the hiring of Jim Fassel to be the franchise's 27th head coach (counting Joe Gibbs twice). And that's bad news for the team's current defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams. Zorn currently is the quarterbacks coach in Seattle, where he has worked since 2001. La Canfora also reports that the Redskins are trying to pry away defensive coordinator Rex Ryan from the Ravens. Despite reports that the Ravens fired their entire coaching staff, the Ravens still hold the rights to Ryan, and could block any attempt by Ryan to interview (or work) elsewhere in a position other than head coach. But, as a practical matter, the Redskins were able to interview Ryan for the position of defensive coordinator while ostensibly interviewing him for the position of head coach. Assuming that Saunders and Williams are released by the Redskins, they'll certainly be in demand elsewhere.[/QUOTE] |

Sorry about the "fancy-pants" comment....just 10 years of Snyder build up...I wonder if windex will remove that?

Re: Fassel, Ryan and Zorn, oh my!
I think as a die hard Redskin fan we are tired of seeing this organization in constant flux. When we get something going and make the playoffs the organization seems to feel the need to make changes, then its another 2 years of addapting to those changes. Happened in 2000 after the 99 playoffs, happened in 2006 after the 05 appearance, and seems to be happening again after this seasons playoff birth. We always take a step or two forward, going in the right direction, then WHAM, we take 5 steps back. I believe the majority of the negative reactions are to that aspect more than it is about Fassell. It seems like we shoot ourselves in the foot everytime we see progression. Whether GW was the right choice or not, who knows, but for the sake of keeping a good thing together for the players on and off the field it would make sense to hire GW as the head coach. The players love this guy, Gibbs (PRIVATELY) endorsed him as head coach, he has shown loyalty to the organization and to his players. Even the offensive players (Randel El, Moss, Portis) have expressed their desire for him to remain as coach. We always seem to mess up team chemistry when its at its strongest. 99 we had a good character team, then came in all the high priced premadonas, 05 great chemistry then came in a few guys, didn't do alot of damage to the chemistry, but adding a new offense after they finished 11th? Now getting rid of the same offense that picked up speed at the end of the year, and takes 3 years to be productive.
Look, half way through the season next year we may be praising this move, but right now its kind of hard to say they missed the target big time on this one. |

Watch Snyder trade draft picks for Ryan.

Re: Fassel, Ryan and Zorn, oh my!
Just to inject a little perspective in this sob-fest, Ryan and Zorn are high quality and highly sought after coaches.
![]() Zorn has been the QB coach for Seattle since 2001 and has a great track record there with Hasselback. Seattle has been ranked 2, 13, and 9 in overall offense in the last 3 years, much better than the skins on average. Ryan is loved by his players and has lead the Ravens to defensive rankings of 5, 1, and 5 over the last 3 years, also better than the almighty GW over that period. Fassel is a WINNING coach, who has playoff experience and has lead a team to the Superbowl...how many coaches out there now have that resume other than Cowher, who isn't coming to town? Now, do I believe this is the best coaching staff ever assembled, admittedly no, but it sure could be worse. I will prefer to focus on the positives here until proven otherwise. I suggest for your own sanity, you do the same. ![]() |

Re: Fassel, Ryan and Zorn, oh my!
I'll admit, I like the Zorn idea. A lot. He's spent the last 6-7 seasons helping develop Hasselbeck into one of the best QBs in the league. And I don't think anyone will argue that Campbell has more physical talent than Hasselbeck. Sucks that JC is gonna have to learn yet another new offense, but oh well.
My main concern offensively is time frame. How long will it take for this offense to catch? Steve Young always says it takes 2 years to really learn a west coast offense. We've just spent two years waiting for JC to catch on to Saunders.

Somehow, I knew that this forum of knowledgeable Redskins fans would somehow come up with the above! The above is not knee jerk, but honest, deep research, followed by sound reasoning. That my B&G friends, is what this site is all about! Some of you need to slow down and wait for the sky to not fall!

Zorn may be the best hire of this group. I really like Rex Ryan, but if Baltimore wants a high draft pick as compensation, I like him a lot less.
