Re: So Now Who Do You Want?

You should have had as one of the possible responses:

"Does it really matter at this point?"

Zorn will call the offensive plays. Blache will call the defensive plays. And Vinny Cerrato, in close, close consultation with Mr. S. will be in charge of all personnel decisions including who makes the final roster. What difference does it make who the HC is? His only real duty will be to appear on George Micheal's hideous television show. Maybe we could save time and just give the job to Sonny Jurgenson.

i'm mad with how it's gone down, and outside a surprise deal for cowher or fisher, i don't really understand how this whole episode is going to make the team better or provide stability... cause every year we've made a major change in staffing, we've had a terrible record to show for it.
There's no way Cowher or anyone else will come near this job now, save to secure his families future. I suspect that's why Grimm is not in the mix. He knows what the deal is with this job and wants no part of it. Any good will or rehabilitation to Snyder's image that had been generated by the return of Joe Gibbs has been pissed away in days. This "Saturday Morning Massacre" has undone in one fail swoop all the well intentioned efforts of four years.

I hope someone else has alrady corrected you, but Mr. Cooke was the one who sold the team. His son would have never done so. *sigh*

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?

Is there any way Daniel Snyder would have the balls to verbally agree to a deal with a coach on the giants or pats before the end of the season?

I do not believe for one second that the redskins head coach did not pick Zorn and Blache as coordinators.

I disagree. I think Snyder looked at how Jones hired Garret first in Dallas and decided it was a good idea. "Hey. You mean I can run the draft, free agency, the roster, the salary cap, AND hire all the assistants? I didn't know that." The next step is of course to coach the team himself.

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?

Why is Cohwer on the list? He's not an option.

I don't want Fassel. Spagnuola and Schwartz are impressive from reports...I don't know.

I guess i'd be ok w/ either.

I think Cohwer is on the list becasue you never know what Dannny will pull out of his hat. Who would have guessed he could every talk Gibbs back into football.

I think it's F: None of the above.

The Redskins shock the world by hiring from within: Kirk Olivadotti.

the redskins haven't won a super bowl since 1991. those cowher coached steeler teams were always in the playoffs. can the skins say that? and coach Gibbs also said he wouldn't coach again. im for just about anyone except for Jim Fassel. since i said that, it probably means he will be the next head coach

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?

I voted Schwartz, but really I think that we are looking at a new NFL.
The coordinators each run their section of the team and the HC delegates, leads and "assists" w/ gameplans. Since Saunders came wasn't this Coach Joe's duties? Do you think Phillips or Coughlin even know every player on their team? Kiffen tried to fire his DC and not only was told no, but told that his resignation was prefered over firing Ryan.
I've always been against Cowher. Without LeBeau he was 3-3 in the playoffs with no Super Bowls. 9-6 w/ Lebeau and 1-1 in the SB. But Lebeau as HC? 12-36 in regular season.
Great football mind and wonderful coordinator doesn't always equal great HC.
