Re: After Mooch interview, John Clayton still predicts Fassel
my bad your right Spag is a DC. but it goes right back to ...is his D similar or a whole lot different then Blache's? I could see friction about mid season if the D is struggling. Atleast if you pick Mooch both Zorn and Mooch would have for the most part the same ideas. If Fossil gets picked what happens when the O is struggling. Will Fossil try to incorporate his offensive ideas? Though it might be for the better of the team I could see friction with Zorn if their ideas are not similar.

Re: After Mooch interview, John Clayton still predicts Fassel
Steve Mariucci is really the only hope that Dan Snyder has of salvaging this disastrous tearing up of the coaching structure. Mariucci has the ability to inspire the team and the fans, and Jim Fassel has not to my eyes shown himself to be inspirational, whatever qualities that he does have.
After all of this chaos, to announce that Jim Fassel is the new head coach - whose reputation is going to sink next year when we can't suddenly turn into the Bill Walsh 49ers with the "West Coast Offense?" Are fans going to be patient? Will the players lose respect for the organization? Dan Snyder is really risking a terrible rupture between the fans and his administration of the team. If Dan Snyder at least hires Steve Mariucci, there will be someone there who can keep the train on the track, keep hope for a bright future for the team alive, and keep everyone's minds to a larger degree off the mismanagement of the team by the owner. |

So now Mariucci is our only hope? Please....what has he done as a head coach to warrant a comment like that? I'm curious, what did you expect to happen when Gibbs resigned? Did you think nothing would change? A coordinator would step right in and keep the status quo? I'm sorry but changes were inevitable, and I think Snyder is making the best of a situation he wasn't prepared to face this offseason. Chaos? I don't see chaos. I see a methodical approach to do what's best for the team, and I believe they'll be even better next year. |

Help us Steve Marriucci . . . You're our only hope! LOL I agree that there was gonna be change, and at first I was impressed with Snyder's patience, but now I'm not so sure. I mean the man has thrown around offers to a couple of retreads, allowed the fans to influence his HC decision, and sabotaged and legitimate chance to hire anyone but Fassel because of the hiring of his coordinators. On top of that, there doesn't seem to be a clear plan in place in what they are looking for; looking at a DC coordinator who runs a 3-4. Now there are rumors leaking that Danny and Vinny are chomping at the bits for Chad Johnson, and have even brought it up in the interviews!! I am becoming less optimistic about this by the minute. I'd like to give DS the benefit of the doubt, but Im not sure he has earned that. His past, and the lack of methodology to his approach, makes me feel incredibly apprehensive about the next coaching era. |
