Re: Spagnuolo or Fassel?
It is turning out to be true, none of the high profile/great HC candidates like Cowher or Spags wants this job. Hhhmmm?
We are basically stuck with dregs of the fired or unemployed coaches. Danny Boy, what was so wrong with Williams? |

We can agree or disagree but this type of thing will happen. Spags may been a bit over his head and got a huge 3 year extension that is much bigger due to his interview. Figure it out!

Re: Spagnuolo or Fassel?
He can be a head coach today for the Skins or stay a coordinator...He choose to stay a coordinator and turn down a career promotion. He does not want to be our HC.
Mooch and Fossil will not be HC's unless the Redskins hire them. Nobody is pounding down their door to hire them. You figure it out. |

Re: Spagnuolo or Fassel?
There were four HC vacancies this off season: Miami, Atlanta, Baltimore and Washington. That is higher than normal year.
But I did not even hear your so called high profile Mooch and Fossil even mentioned as finalists for any of them. The Redskins are the only team to mention them and top it off they have put them on hold in the hope they could get someone better only to be turned down. Now they are back to plan B. |

Re: Spagnuolo or Fassel?
I vote for Dan Snyder as our HC, he wouldn't even know where to start. Go get Mouse Davis so we can run the run and shoot, Glanville is available

Re: Spagnuolo or Fassel?
Frankly, I'm needing to vent. Why is it we can't be a contender? Some say it's Snyder... and it probably is. Look at all the other good organizations. The same group are always the ones to go to the playoffs, and win big games... but the last 15 years, we've been the most laughed at, mediocre team around, along side (until this year) the Brows, Bengals, Texans, Lions, 49ers, Cardinals... blah blah.. we can't buy SB's, that's been proven. We can't let people develop, we always strike out with coaches. I think also it's because deep down we've always thought Gibbs was the answer, and we all got proved wrong. So, I do think it's a good move to re-structure the entire organization, and the face of the Redskins. WCO... new coach... what did Danny Boy actually think could happen in 5 years? Joe wasn't going to di-gress in age. Maybe in the 80's or the 90's this new team Joe built would have been a juggernaut. Gibbs saw how well is scheme was working in practice, and this and that. Athletes are different. Thats why he was starting to get better after that first year. Too old. I love him, and I wish it were still the 80's but unfortuntely we just let Snyder somewhat tarnish a great mans HOF career. Yeah, he's still Joe, but he went from prolific (what got him into the hof) to mediocre (would classify him as a retread like fassel) Someone help me understand why we can't just fucking win? I'm getting old, and after the glory of the 80's, I never thought we'd go this long, or I'd almost have gray hair before I could have that feeling of watching my team win.... I will admit, Joe did bring back that feeling for a while, but it was short lived.

Re: Spagnuolo or Fassel?
Not only that but Sports Talk just said that Fassel will be our new coach. AND Jack Burns cleared out his office. Big news on Jack Burns. I didn't even know he had an office.

Re: Spagnuolo or Fassel?
I thought Sports Talk 980 wasn't the best source being that their "sources" have been known to give shitty information.

Re: Spagnuolo or Fassel?
What about Brian Billick? He is a good coach, has Superbowl experience, and is available.
How come no one talks about him?
