Regarding Sellers I think he's a quality FB. I don't see a huge need to replace him.
I still think he is solid, no worries there.

But I feel this season is the one where we've got to find his successor. Maybe have someone share some time with him, or fill in for him when he's injured. I think late in the draft... just get a big coach-able body, tailor him to be ready in a year or two.

If so -- Lorenzo Neal is reportedly going to be released from the Chargers. Can't think of a better fullback than him. I like Sellers, but not sure how I like him in the fullback role.
Neal is something like 50 yearls old. Sellers is just fine.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Ive poster before about Owen Schmitt. The guy is a absolute beast. He’s also more of a blocking back then a gimmick or receiving back, so he might work out real well under Sellers. Plus they are both about the exact same size. Definitely part of the big reason White and Slaton have become household names is because of him. Plus I think he went to PVI, so he may very well be a skins fan. I think he’s projected to go in the 4th round, but he had a really big run in WVUs bowl so that might of upped him a little bit. Neal is just too old.

Someone said that he hung around Chris Henry and other notable WVU alum a little bit and might have some character issues. But who would be better in this league then Mike Sellers to mentor him? Big Mike took the long road to get where he is now because of his character problems when he was younger. Plus if you smoke drugs (weed) and you had the chance to play for the team you grew up watching wouldn’t you change your lifestyle entirely? If not just to keep the chance of getting trader or cut the slimiest possibility.

He has blocked for quite a few 1000yd rushers in his time, but not sure how he would fit in here. He is also getting along in age.

Plus, I know you didn't fall down the stairs as a child because your house didn't have stairs, and I doubt very seriously that you're Chinese.

Sellers is getting kinda old and even though he has bounce around over the years and hasnt had a demanding starting position, he had some injuries last year. But I guess everyone did.

Re: West-Coast Offense clarification.

Sellers just got a new contract at the end of last season. He's an excellent lead blocker for Portis, and should fit in well with the new offense. I don't think we need to replace him, but I'll admit that I was very impressed with Owen Schmidt of WVU. It's a bonus in the WCO if the fullback has decent hands, which Sellers has, giving another outlet for the QB.

Sellers is okay, but we need someone younger and more athletic

Re: West-Coast Offense clarification.

Has anybody thought about the possibilities of having both Portis and Betts in the backfield at once?

More athletic?

Dude is a 280 pound FB who can run, catch, and block. He can also play the h-back and TE.

Not sure what else you could want from a guy.

Youth, for one, I know we would want. He isnt gonna play for too much longer. Yes, Sellers is a good player, but if we can get someone younger and more athletic to be used in the passing game, then why not?

Dallas converted a LB, that wasnt gonna make the team. He turned out pretty good. Look at Seattle's FB, remember that TD run that they scored on us in the playoffs, I dont think Sellers breaks that run and takes it to the house. Do you?

The only problem with Sellers is he didn't touch the ball often enough.

Sellers is one of the best fullbacks in the league. This is one of the dumbest threads I've ever seen.

Even if there was, that would be pretty low on the priority list.
