Re: Dan Snyder losing respectability?
Quote:
1) JERRY Jones has won several Super Bowls; Mr. Snyder in 8 years still has to buy tickets to go to one. 2) Mr. Jones comes from a huge football background. He was a star Rb out of High school and received multiple scholarship offers to play at major NCAA Div I schools. He ended up at U of Arkansas with Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer. Mr. Snyder has never been on or around any organized major football team. Even his high school team that he was not on (B.C.C.) is perennially a terrible team. So I do not understand why he thinks he has the knowledge to be the final say in all player operations? He has proven over the last eight years he is not football savvy. |

I wouldn't argue with one single thing you said, but when ownership was transfered form the Cooke Foundation and Daniel Snyder asumed ownership, there was no criteria established that the new owner had to have a football background, or any previous association with the world of sports. Had that been the case, then perhaps Snyder would not have been able to purchase the team. Snyder is what he is, and unfortunately he's what we have to live with unless he decides to sell the team. |

Snyder wants to be like Jerry Jones but he does not have the background to do it. |

Jack Kent Cooke had vast knowledge of how the professional sports world operated because he had previously owned sporting franchises', not in football but Hockey and Basketball. Mr. Cooke was also more hands-on than many people realize. He came very close to firing Joe Gibbs at the beginning of his first tenure here, it's just that during that time, every little thing wasn't scrutinized and made public the way it is today. |
