I think back to the Lavar situation and last years "mole" in the locker room, probably gave the appearance that GW didn't have as good of control of his team as he would like everyone to think.

GW is a polarizing guy. For every Fletcher who runs through walls for him, you have a Pierce who can't wait to get away from him and succeed elsewhere to prove him wrong. If your info is true (and I question posts like this with no sources other than a guy I know) then it means that he will probably never get to be a good HC. Only coaches with previous rings and almost universally accepted clout are given final say over personnel.

Pierce actually liked playing for GW. Not sure where you got that info from. He hates the skins now. Most guys who actually play and perform for GW like him.

Well thats a strange comment to make, because Pierce came out and said he loves Williams on Comcast and he was stunned that he did not get the job. He also said they still talk on the phone.

The only beef that Pierce ever had with the Redskins is that they didn't play ball in good faith when he became a free agent after his outstanding first year as starting MLB. From all accounts, he loved playing for Williams and quarterbacking our defense. Pierce didn't ask for huge money, which made it even more troubling that he stayed in the division at a bargain rate for one of the best MLB's in the league.

How do you know Antonio Pierce wanted to get away?

Williams is the coach who helped catapult his career and they had a great working relationship.

Pierce not staying was attributed primarily to the front office's undervaluation of him.

I don't agree with the assessment that Pierce wanted to get away from here. I believe it was Williams who said that we didn't necessarily need him and that Pierce used that as motivation to prove that he was a good LB. I guess Pierce 1 and Williams 0 on that assessment.
