Re: Compensatory picks are in
This is exceptionally good news.
Take it with a grain of salt though. We essentially got the top choice in the 4th round. The 7th rounders would have been undrafted. Of course there is always an advantage with a pick vs undrafted though these folks are unlikely to stick. It is entirely possible to get a starter with the high pick though! That is wonderful!!

It is basically the first 4th round pick, but tell that to his agent.

Why can't you ever just admit when you're wrong offiss, or offfiss, whatever your name is now? True, Campbell hasn't been phenomenal but he's been a lot better than you've ever given him credit for.
Anyway, this extra pick is great news for us. I hope, as the rest of us, that we can capitalize on it.

Re: Compensatory picks are in
Every other team is hardly that successful w/the draft. Often, not even half of draft picks make a team. If all draft picks made their teams every year there'd be hardly any vets around.

We now have enough picks to start the philosophical change that the will Make the Redskins a contender for years to come...not just a flash in the pants as in years past with our splash tactics of off has been free agents of years before.
I look forward to our return to glory!!!! |

Re: Compensatory picks are in
Draft day will be a good day to look foreward too this year. When was the last time we had nine picks in any one draft? It is my hope we continue this trend, IMO it's the proper way to build the team for the future.
I'll be excited come draft day, way to go Skins!!

Re: Compensatory picks are in
The 7th rounders will just be fresh bodies to throw around in Training Camp. Skins don't usually seem to keep the 7th rounders, but considering we got Cooley in the 3rd, I'm definitely psyched about getting an additional 3rd rounder. Probably get slammed for saying this, but I can't help but think if we could trade both our 3rd rounders for a good 2nd round pick. Seems there's depth in the first two rounds for some of the positions we're looking to get some youth at (WR, CB, DE), and with a 1st and two 2nd's, we could add some serious talent to the squad. Having said all this, don't see Cerrato making any big moves before the draft. Seems like he's genuinely content with the roster the way it is heading into draft weekend.

Re: Compensatory picks are in
As was stated earlier in the thread - we can't trade the compensatory picks.

Re: Compensatory picks are in
We should trade some of those compensatory picks to try to pick up a 2nd.

Re: Compensatory picks are in
All in all, I hope we have a great draft. My favorite part has been when we pick up local talent and they make the team. And we'll probably pick up someone good that's a training camp drop.

Re: Compensatory picks are in
If we do trade up, and I dont mean our compensatory picks, I hope it is for descent talent. As a fan for life I am a little gun shy around this front office. For the most part I feel confident. The draft is like an automatic assault rifle and draft pics are like bullets. When you have more bullets, you have a better shot at hitting you target, but you dont have to aim very well. With fewer, you take time to aim better because you cannot afford to miss. We need to treat this draft like we only have 3 total picks. So far the approach in the FA has been to my liking, and the risks taken will yeild great rewards if we draft well.
