Good stuff. When you hear high fever after transplant, the first concern is that the body's immune system is recognizing the kidney as a foreign invader and ramps up the white blood cell count (causing the fever) and attacking the kidney.
You also worry about serious bacterial infection. But it sounds like this was a nasty virus. The little guy can certainly handle that and more, if he's as tough as his dad is. And he does seem to be that tough. Not much is worse in life than little kids getting really sick. Glad to hear he's on the mend.

Yeah there is no worse feeling in the world than when your kids are sick or hurt. I have been very blessed that my kids have never had anything 'serious', and just cant imagine what Reed and his wife go thru daily, even with their faith as strong as it is, its gotta be painfully tuff to deal with. I wish their son a speedy recovery and I wish Reed a even better year this year than he had last year on the field.
