He was a very good baseball player. Don't forget that while he did suck in the 88, and 90 WS, he did very well in the 89 series (.357 batting average, .500 OBP) and has a ring for his efforts. He was the founding father of the 40/40 club (and if I recall there are only 3 ever in that club...canseco, bonds and a-rod). He's also a league MVP. He had an extremely successful career...one that others would be very jealous of.
Of course it was all roids, but who wasn't taking roids? We all love to punk on Canseco, and let's face it, he's an easy target, but he was one of the most feared batters in baseball.

He is, however, most certainly a whore for attention. It's disgusting really...but why not use his soiled name to get some more cash...as you mentioned he is likely broke, and his wives took him to the cleaners too. Where is he going to get his roid money?
