I'm hoping for a little leeway with JC this year. The reports I have heard out of camp so far have been less than encouraging but it's still early. The worst thing the fans can do is start clamoring for the back up before the season begins.

personally, i think he mainly needs to improve at reading defenses. if it weren't for bad reads (which lead to interceptions) late in the games against the cowboys and the bucs, we could easily have been 11-5. |

There are usually growing pains with a young quarterback. That's the nature of the beast when you install a young QB. It's naive to think that anyone should have the same sort of success Brady and Rothlisberger had immediately. Look at Peyton Manning, he was brutal his first season, but they let him learn. Most guys don't do well when they first become a starter in the NFL. This argument about how long to give a young quarterback is one that doesn't really have a solution. I really hope, though, that Zorn doesn't have the quick hook that you're implying he should. |

He's going to have issues this season. He needs to progress as the year goes on, but for anyone who thinks there won't be any growing pains this year (with a new offense, head coach, O coordinator) is crazy. |

Re: Jason Campbell article (CBS Sports)
absolutely. but i think there is more pressure on the defense to maintain (or, hopefully, increase) their level of play. we have too much talent on offense to be much worse than we were last year, despite growing pains. i don't think any of our starters approached their potential except cooley and randle el.

You mean we shouldn't expect the kind of success that Romo is having? |

Re: Jason Campbell article (CBS Sports)
I think JC is going to be OK but I'm not totaly sold on him as of right now. Can anyone tell me of a game where JC has lead a comback victory late in a game?

Re: Jason Campbell article (CBS Sports)
Not unless we have the line and receivers that Romo has at his disposal, IMO. And let's not get too crazy, Romo has been effective, but he's won exactly the same amount of playoff games as JC...

Re: Jason Campbell article (CBS Sports)
After hearing Zorn's interview on Redskins.com last night, I really feel like TC is the odd man out. This is all my opinion. He really has high hopes for Derek Devine.

Re: Jason Campbell article (CBS Sports)
Isn't Derek like our #4 QB or something? I'm sure he was just praising his hard work in practice and nothing more...

Re: Jason Campbell article (CBS Sports)
this is the make or break year for Campbell in my eyes. I don't want to end up like the Bears or Tampa but he needs to step up.

If Ramsey tore it up in the preseason and was lighting it up against the Bears in that season opener I highly doubt he would have gotten the quick hook, but we've been over this a million times so I'll drop it now. Here's to hoping that JC never gives Zorn a reason to yank him unless it's due to injury. |

But, I'll bet you a case of Sam Adams that Campbell will have a significantly better year than last.
