I was watching the top ten most feared tacklers on the NFL Network and they had some pretty hard hitters on that list. Now the way I see it, Taylor should be on that list. A short career may keep you out of the HOF, but it damn sure doesn't keep you from being feared.

I just don't think that the NFL celebrates his extraordinary talent, if only in NFL films. When I say celebrate, they don't have to talk about him every game, but I think NFL films should at least show some of the unhuman like plays he did make in his short time here.

What better way to show kids in the future the diamond in the rough that the NFL once had. I don't think that people really know how big, strong and fast that this guy was. AND HE WAS STILL LEARNING!

The only way to see a safety like that was to create him on Madden. If talent was a gemstone, Taylor's would surely be on display at a heavily guarded museum for all to see.

We may be old, the next time we see a player like that come along again.

He should be on that list!

No ,the list is long and can be held to different opinions.

Harry Carson,Mike Singeltary ,Mike Curtis ar just a couple that I think are better than John Lynch and a few others. That in no way diminishs how good ST was ,but he was young and just did not play long enough,he has not earned the accolades some fans want to give him.

Out of all these respected names you have posted, how many of them could cover the running backs (probably all of them)

tight ends (probably all of them)

wide receivers (NONE OF THEM) Except ONE. Sean Taylor.

And he could hit just as hard as the LB, because he was about their size, and stronger and faster than the DBs on that list.

Nuff Said!!

Thanks for proving my point, the list is about tackeling ............not covering.ST was a good player with tons of potential ...just not great. You don't got into the HOF for potential.

WRONG. He was great, and he would have continued to break records, but he was killed and couldn't prove it to people like you.

The DECLEATER Record. The forced ALLIGATOR ARM Record. The LOOK BEFORE YOU CATCH THE BALL AND DROPPED IT RECORD.

Dude S.T. had fully grown into his potential during the '07 season. Everybody could see it, he didn't get beat once, he had 5 picks in 7 games, and he was playing like everyone envisioned he would when we first drafted him. If he had played like that the entire year I have no doubts he would've been recognized as one of the best safeties in the NFL, similar to the way Ed Reed was in '04. Unfortunately that didn't and won't happen, so the point is basically moot.

Look first off,no one can find anything I've said that's negative about ST!He was good, very good but to anoint him as a saint and all super HOF I think is wrong.Second and I mean this, all I'm talking about is football...nothing else.We will never know simple as that,we can wish ,hope or dream but he could have blown out a knee and never played again...................nobody knows that's all I'm saying .

Straight up!

Can you honestly tell me that he couldn't be put on the

NFL's Most Feared Tacklers/Hitters List. This is all I'm questioning. Nothing about the HOF, All-Time greatest players, none of that.

Just One of the Most Feared Tacklers/Hitters.

It doesn't take a long career to establish that, just a few concussions on the offensive players behalf.

Giantone might not hold ST's skills in the high regard that many of us do, but he hasn't taken any cheap shots at Taylor. Giantone is just disagreeing with us, which is fine.

That said, I have never seen a guy hit like Taylor. I've seen Lynch, Lott, and others hit, but none of them hit quite like Taylor. Taylor would miss a lot of tackles because he was running at full speed, but that's also why he tended to blow people up when he made contact. You'd see a RB running 3-4 yards, a flash come in from the backfield and, all of the sudden, the forward progress would come to halt immediately. I think Brandon Jacobs said that he had never seen someone play as though they had multiple bodies (i.e., hitting without regard to one's own body).

He would have been the best safety EVER to have played the game. And I have no problem saying that, because I recognize GREATNESS!!

Slim, stop being a homer a give respect where it is due. He was the hardest hitting...............you ready for this.............................
DEFENSIVE PLAYER IN THE GAME!!! PERIOD!!!

BE IT TACKLING OR HITTING, whatever you want to call it. When he struck your a$$, it was hard as hell. He changed the game in just 3 in a half years.

I love T.O. because of his talent and because he plays for the Cowboys, but I have never in his whole career, seen him play as cautious as he did when he played against the Skins.

I know you had a great on your team named L. Taylor, much respect. But this dude was your best player's size and probably faster than any WR in your teams history.

I am not a genius when it comes to physics, but when you have a guy that weighs 235 to 240 that runs a 4.3, 4,4 WITH RECKLESS ABANDONMENT, that to me spells one of the hardest hits.

I bet you Plaxico would consider him one of the most feared tacklers in NFL history. Try thinking outside the box. I know a lot about football Homey, and I know that there has never been NOBODY like him at that position.

Tell me this. How many safeties have you ever seen cover the WHOLE defensive backfield BY HIMSELF?

You don't believe me, just look at one of those crazy setups that GW designed for the Skins when ST was back there alone.

Go ahead, it's on film.

As you might expect, I agree. T.O. never played all that well against the Redskins when Taylor was in the game, and lit us up when Taylor was absent. I remember one play where T.O. went up for a jump ball, had it in his hands, looked and saw Taylor coming, and curled up into the fetal position to brace for contact.

Plaxico said Taylor was the biggest, most feared hitter in the league. I think an SI players poll revealed the same thing.
