He got on a lot of peoples nerves...very disrespectful to Gibbs. His posts were mostly loaded with insults and no substance. Basically it seemed he was here just to piss people off and it worked. Some of us had more patience for him than others ( I was not one of the patient ones). The board started to become all about him for awhile so it was time for him to get booted. Reading most of his posts I ended up doing this .

To be honest, I have mixed feelings about ZackMills.

Most of his posts were not constructive criticisms and so I understand the decision to ban him. People like denim monger degrade the quality of the site by sounding like children.

However, I am afraid that banning someone who speaks out against Gibbs or certain decisions the Redskins' front office has made sets a dangerous precedent. Discouraging honest disagreements as to what Gibbs, or anybody else in the Redskins organization, is doing may also degrade the quality of the site by making it a forum for monologues, not dialogues.

I for one am nervous about my own views (which often cut against the grain). Do I have to be careful when evaluating a player or a player personnel decision?

Overall, I understand the decision but with the caveat that I hope that posters are RARELY banned.

I respect and understand your concerns, but rest assured his opinions had absolutely NOTHING to do with him being removed from the board.

I'm 110% for people having different opinions, as unpopular as they may be. However, I'm not for people taking over the forum and that's what was happening with zackmills.

Anytime he posted it started trouble. I can't figure out if he was just trying to get a rise out of people or if he really was just a jerk. It's probably a combo of the two. If his posts had a little more 'meat' to them and weren't so negative and disrespectful he would still be here. And I'm not talking about being disrespectful to Gibbs, when I say he was disrespectful I mean to the forum, and that's why he's gone. It had nothing to do with his opinions.

Only a handful of people have been banned, and up until now they were only spammers. So I really wouldn't worry about this being a regular thing. Going back to the Yahoo days of this site, I can probably count on one hand how many people have been banned.

Anybody that's been on the site for a while can tell you I don't run the site with an iron fist where anyone who has a differing opinion is in danger of being booted. That's not what I'm about and it's not what the site is about. However, once in a while a cancer comes along that must be removed for the good of the group.

I totally agree with the decision to ban him. Like Matty says, the decision was not based on his lack of respect for Gibbs, it was based on the fact that he refused to show any respect towards anyone else on the forum or the opinions that they presented to him.

Personally, I had put him on my 'ignore list' a week or two ago, but I was really frustrated by the fact that I continued to have to read his blather anyway because so many folks were quoting his posts in their replies to him.

In the future, let's try to avoid letting guys like this get under our skin and take over the forum by simply ignoring them. Follow the best credo regarding trolls like ZackMills, and that is "if you ignore them they will go away."

Let me cite my homeboy Daseal once again.

Daseal might come with a post that says "Spurrier was put in a bad position here because his assistant coaches were poor. He tried to get Kim Helton fired but wasn't allowed to. Had he been surrounded by better people he'd still be the head coach here and he wouldn't be settling for less than 20 points a game"

Zack, on the other hand says "Gibbie is too old, get that assclown out of here"

Now, while I don't entirely agreee with Daseal's statement, at least he backs it up with some substance. That's a difference of opinion anyone can respect

How can I show respect to members of the board when they don't respect me. I am sure that I was flamed more by members than I flamed members

I was not treating fairly. The mod banned me without notice or warning. I would have been okay with a 7 day ban, but just banning my IP address without notification was not the right thing to do.

I am angry that I was never notified of why this occurred. You as a mod should have some say, or is this just a dictatorship?
