I think we can stop the run game because we've stopped it past, but I'm kinda scared with witten and TO. I think Horton (or Doughty) will do a good job with both.

Re: Who has the better running duo in NFC east?
NFC EAST RBs RUSHING STATS (CARRIES/YDS/AVG/TD)
(after three weeks) Washington C. Portis 65/248/3.8/3 L. Betts 11/48/4.4/0 Dallas M. Barber 62/285/4.6/4 F. Jones 18/148/8.2/2 NY B. Jacobs 50/244/4.9/1 D. Ward 26/177/6.8/0 Philly B. Westbrook 42/161/3.8/3 C. Buckha... 12/48/4.0/0 ************************ I think if you look at the current performance of RBs, I would put Dallas RB tandem 1st, because of the amount of yds/TDs and they've played two good defenses (Philly and GB). I want to go with the Skins second, but Philly has played Pittsburgh and Dallas, which have good defenses, and they still put up 3 TDs, although not as many yds. The Skins are a close 3rd, due to the amount of yds and putting up 3 TDs, as with Philly, Washington's running game is just one player (Portis). Our team has played two average defenses (N.O./Cards) and a good defense (NYG). Finally, I would put NYG's RB tandem fourth b/c althougth they've gained a lot of yds, they have 1 TD to show for, and this is playing against teams like St. Louis and Cincy, which have weak defenses. Plus, we kept Jacobs scoreless, despite gaining over 100 yds against us.

Re: Who has the better running duo in NFC east?
I like the big back/scat back duo that the Gmen have. However, the offensive lines of these teams play a huge role in determining the best duo. Right now--I think Dallas' O line is the best run blocking line and therefore Barber and Jones have the best numbers. A great running back cannot compensate for a poor Oline. A great Oline only needs an above average back to produce good stats...

Re: Who has the better running duo in NFC east?
Everyone is forgetting Cartwright, which gives a 3 headed monster and if we would have kept Mason make that's a 4 headed monster. If Cartwright was to start due to injury I could see him gaining 100yards. He's done it before.

Re: Who has the better running duo in NFC east?
I want to go with Portis/Betts, but we're still working on getting Portis going (that 3.8 ypc is not cool). So the Cowboys have the best running back tandem in the division, as well as the fans most likely to break their arms from patting themselves on the back.

I think the Skins could be better,it's not your backs but your O-line,there is some age to it. |

Re: Who has the better running duo in NFC east?
There's nothing wrong with our OL. Maybe if we didn't miss 2 of our starters last year things would have been different and even so we spanked the G-men at their house. Remember?

Re: Who has the better running duo in NFC east?
Gotta go with the Giants in the East. Although Barber and Jones in Dallas show great potential, Felix Jones has only 3 games in his career and it is way too early to judge IMO

Even with Barber/Jones having scored 6 TDs, while all three G-Men RBs have scored only 2 TDs this season so far?

I forgot about Mike sellers but probably because he has the same amount of rushing attempts as Devin Thomas and Moss which is one attempt. If we are looking at three back system T Choice could be a starter for another team. Both RB rookies have both been rather impressive thus far, and I can only hope they keep it up and don't end like Julius Jones. |
