Sorry GTripp but I do not see what you see in Montgomery. He is definitely not the 'lone dominant player' on our defense. He is good and getting better, but he is not dominant by any stretch. If you haven't seen him play poorly in the past, it does not mean it did not happen.
I think you'll have to forgive me for going with my eyes here, then. Looks like we'll just have to agree to disagree.

I like that you did not take offense by me disagreeing with you. There have been some very angry/sensitive people on here lately. You are not only smart but also a gentlemen. Keep up the good work.
We can agree to disagree.

The defense is definitely not the problem. The problem is the passing game and the inability to sustain drives. If we get a 5 yard penalty or lose two yards on a run, we can't recover and convert a first down. There is no explosiveness in this offense. It's overly cautious and it's infuriating to watch. Zorn doesn't even try to attack a defense until halfway through the third quarter.

Also, special teams is noticably down from the last four years, which is not surprising since most coaches will not spend as much time on it as Gibbs did. Gibbs was obsessed with special teams and rightfully so.

Good thread and proof that we can all disagree on things and keep it civil.
