You just asked the question that MIGHT hold the answer to everyone's hopes and aspirations. I asked in another thread if LaVar's rehab from arthroscopic surgery that was supposed to take 2-3 weeks to heal (and there was a bye week to intervene there - would have been faster if his grievance had already been decided. When I asked the question, it was received about as warmly as a fart in an operating room... I know everyone will jump in here yelling that LaVar is a beast and a warrior and that all he wants to do is win. I don't read minds so I don't know what he wants to do - except that I do know that he wants another $6M from Danny Boy that he says he was "cheated out of". If he didn't want that, he would have dropped the grievance. I know he is not a beast; he has completely human DNA. He isn't a warrior either; the warriors are in Iraq and Afghanistan at the moment. His agents - the Postons - might be calling the shots here and it is NOT inconceivable that they would find it "beneficial" to "withhold his services" during the time leading up to the arbitration. "Withholding services" has happened with some of their other clients...

If he was able to play and was cleared by the team doctors, I find it a little hard to believe we wouldn't have heard from the Poston brothers and their intentions to hold him out until this issue is resolved. If they were going to hold him out, why would they have not held him out the entire season instead? At this point holding him out doesn't give them much leverage, not as much as if they held him out from the start of the season. |
