I've been watching them for 35 years. I remember Dallas going 1-15 beating only the Redskins. So I'm well aware of our lopsided play. But the point I was trying to make is there was a definate point of decline and that point started with Portis' decline.

You're not a JC fan I get it.

Portis's decline is a direct result of not having a passing game.

That does not explain the first half of the season. Neither does it make any sense. Portis didn't rely on the pass, but his health. Most passing games will not open up until the run is established. Not the other way around.

I'd argue it had more to do with his injuries the OL breaking down.

Of course it does, the whole offense including both the passing and running games suffered this year by the lack of an offensive line. If you look up a few posts i was disagreeing with the poster in which he was talking about Portis having a poor year which lead to Campbells poor year. If anything it was the other way around. Truly the offensive line was the main culprit in a poor showing on offense in the second half of the season.

Im just not big on pouring blame on Portis, who i think is the hardest working player on the team.

nobody here is pouring blame on Portis. On the contrary, I was showing what a big part of our offence Portis is and how without him affects JC as well as the offence as a whole
