Are we now in the business of taking all the Oakland Raiders left overs.

Which left-overs are you referring to, Hall or Lechler? If you are indeed saying that, then the answers is hell yes.

I agree that these are good players to have. I guess that I was just making a point that every year it seems like we target a particular teams roster and raid it. And I guess this years target is the Oakland Raiders.

Who knows if Lechler is even on our radar. Even if he was 2 players is hardly a raid.

They must have someone on their radar besides Adle-bury. I mean come on? This guy isn't that much better than the one we waived. If they don't have any good FA punters that their looking at it would surprise me. It's an area of need that they'll not have to spend really big $ on.

Re: Plackemeier waived

If the only significant names that the Redskins signed in free agency were Lechler & Graham I would be happy. I am so sick of the redskins consistently pathetic kicking game...

Yeah I'm just saying there are other punters available, not just Lechler. Smootsmack hinted perhaps Hunter Smith.

BENGALS POUNCE ON PLACKEMEIER

Posted by Mike Florio on February 13, 2009, 4:35 p.m.
The Cincinnati Bengals have claimed punter Ryan Plackemeier on waivers from the Redskins, the team announced on Friday.
Plackemeier had been waived by the Seahawks during the 2008 season, and he signed with Washington on October 15.
Kyle Larson is the other punter on the roster; he has held the job for the last five years. Signed through 2012, Larson is scheduled to earn a base salary of $1 million in 2009.

Re: Plackemeier waived

Do people have short memories around here or what?

Plackemeier was 28th in the league in punting average last year, and 37th in net avg. Outside of one game he was awful.

Re: Plackemeier waived

He doesnt suck. hes been off lately but this guy has great potenetial. hes only 24 years old and it was his 3rd year pro . I think we should have kept him one more year. Check out his stats for 06 He was 4th in the league

NFL Football Statistics and League Leaders - National Football League - ESPN
Also his stats started coming up late in the year with his best game at Philly earning him special player of the week with 4 of his kicks within the 10YL

Plackemeier Named NFC Special Teams Player of Week

I think the Bengals were smart to go after him.
