Wasn't he one of the players that was going to cost the team a lot if he was cut? I thought I heard that in the radio today.

I like this move... Griff deserves to stay regardless of whether we somehow acquire fat Albert.

Yea for blocking all the young guys!

In all honesty, Griffin really does deserve to stay. I just figured that the Haynesworth contract would be at his expense.

That's what is puzzling me... after Springs who else could be cut to make room for $15 mill/year on the books? Griffs contract definitely wouldn't do it.

Haynesworth's contract would not take up 15 million of cap space in the first year.

So if we don't have a cap next year, or thereafter for that matter, then the money is not as devastating to what we can do in the future as it seems? After all these years of dealing with the cap it's hard to get back in that mindset but is that correct Schneed? And do you know what the caphit would be at 15 mil the first year or do you need other facets of the contract before you would know?

Assuming a 6 year deal at 100 million, we simply have to find a contract that increases by 30% every year until the entire deal is paid out in 6 years.

I wish I was as good with equations as I pretend to be, but ThatGuy threw something like this together in another thread.

Thanks GTripp. I'm kinda on the fence about this too, but if we don't have a cap in 2010 or thereafter then it really only affects us this year right? I mean The Danny can spend all he wants and it does'nt restrict us as far as what we spend or who we sign from 2010 on. Correct?
