Yeah, that seems odd.

They interviewed Campbell, who as you mentioned is at the game. I love his classy response - "That's just he business end of the game. I'm not worried about all that. I'm just preparing to have what I think will be my best season as a pro."

Did you hear that Cutler? That's how a man handles these things.
I'm sure behind the scenes Jason wants to know exactly what's going on, but he's handling it in house, which is exactly where it should stay.

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

JLC weighs in - apparently we're looking to move JC to another team for a 2nd rounder to acquire more picks to send to Denver. If true it would confirm SmootSmack's suspicion of a 3 team deal.

I feel bad about letting JC go if this is true but the fact of the matter is that when you get a chance to land a true franchise QB you take it. Some people will say that JC and Cutler are just 2 points apart on QB rating, well the fact of the matter is Cutler threw for an extra 1,000 yards and most of his interceptions were when the team was behind. Either way I think it's clear that Cutler is the superior QB.

Part of me is excited about this if it's true, but I don't want to lose any of our core guys with Cooley and Landry.

Also if this is true I think the team is now looking back on the guys they missed. Opting for Brunell over Warner and even Campbell over Brees in 2006.

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

If we're gonna ship away picks, I'd like to know what we plan to do at OLB and tackle. As someone pointed out, Cutler was one of the least sacked QBs in the league last year, while Campbell ate a ton of turf.

Looks like yet another year where we have almost no draft picks and we blow our wad on flashy names. I'm annoyed.

Heyer better learn to bend those damn knees and Rhinehart better develop into a starting RG. On top of that we'll need to find a diamond in the rough late in the draft. I think it can be done and who knows maybe Cutler is quicker at making decisions then JC is. I don't know. It would probably be best if I didn't think about it so much.

The funny part is we'd be doing the same thing to our QB that Denver did to Cutler, wonder how Cutler will feel about that?

Yup. And if we send someone like Landry or Cooley packing.... well... I'm gonna have a real hard time with that one. A real hard time.

I know their names are only floated b/c of that fake rumor from a few weeks ago, but if we don't send JC to Denver, I'd imagine one of our players will be leaving along with a draft pick or two.

That is sort of funny!!!! Remember the profootballtalk story from the bleacherreport? That talked about a 3 team trade either with Cleveland or KC. KC could use JC for sure. I think JC would thrive in the AFC. The Jets, Lions, etc would love to get JC.

One thing that there's no suspense on is that we're going to end this day way worse off then we started it, whether anything happens or not.

The only question is "how low can we go?"

Our first, third, first next year and JC is the ceiling or in this case the basement.

My buddy jokingly said this in an email this morning: Denver would get all of our draft picks for the next 300 years, laron landry, andre carter, gizmo, and the rights to sean taylor's memory.

At this point I wouldn't be all that surprised.

Wow...just wow. I think the FO has already bungled this thing, maybe beyond repair as far as JC's future in Washington is concerned. I mean the difference between us and NY Jets/Tampa Bucs is we have a guy set to be the starting QB...much more complicated. Those teams can pursue w/o necessarily throwing a current member of the franchise under the bus.

...personally I think this is so unfair to JC and if the FO is stupid enough to blow up the offense again i hope Campbell has tremendous success wherever he lands. I'll never support Cutler here seeing how he's handled himself...ever.
