Because he made the same mistakes Dan Snyder did, trying to buy a championship, but the big difference is, he learned from that mistake and allowed the professionals (professional being the operative word) to develop a plan, starting with the sell off of high priced veterans, and selling them off for draft picks, utilized smart drafting, and build the Caps on a long term success plan. Just look at the Caps. You have a free agent like Shaone Morrisonn for instance who decided to leave for a bigger contract, you have Karl Alzner, John Carlson, Joe Finely and other prospects int he wings waiting. Many NFL teams are like that as well, drafting smart, keeping draft picks as premium, and building success through rejuvenation. That doesn't happen at Ashburn.
