Fox's new reality show. Watch somebody lose their job
Fox to make reality TV show out of company layoffs - MSN TV News
I think this is a f'ed up idea. Who wants to watch somebody go through something like this. |

Re: Fox's new reality show. Watch somebody lose their job
This is a terrible idea.
This reminds me of an old SNL spoof of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, called Who Wants To Eat? All of the contestants were from third world countries and instead of getting more money for each question they got offered more food.

Re: Fox's new reality show. Watch somebody lose their job
I have yet to talk to one person who would watch this. I bet this never gets shown on TV. Somebody at fox will come to their senses about this and see its not a very good idea. This isn't entertainment.
And good afternoon D. Happy Easter. |

Re: Fox's new reality show. Watch somebody lose their job
I usually don't watch television for just this reason. I can't stand Fox. If it's not on National Geographic, The History Channel, or a game or race I don't watch it.
Do y'all remember the game show on RoboCop? I'd buy that for a dollar. |

Re: Fox's new reality show. Watch somebody lose their job
My question is what business would ever allow Fox to do this??
Sure come on in, turn our office into a TV studio. We're not suffering financially enough as it is, let's hamper employee productivity with a distracting camera crew! Unless it's Dunder Mifflin, I have no interest in what goes on inside other offices, and I certainly can't support this on principle.

This new show certainly lacks taste and in a trying economy, might hit home a little too hard for a lot of americans, but don't be mislead, this show WILL get ratings cause it's one of those things like a car wreck. You're mortified, but can't look away. Americans are always looking for the next thing. Instead of Fox going one more step beyond NBC, they went too far, but Fox seems to like that, and Fox viewers like it too. I find it hard to understand how they will get around privacy laws etc. For instance, if I was one that was laid off and I was plastered on TV after it happened, I'd be PISSED! Maybe they will throw a lot of cash at the victims to make it go away...don't know.

Re: Fox's new reality show. Watch somebody lose their job
Straight from the article:
Fox says the laid-off worker will get a small severance, but isn't saying whether the network or producers are paying the participants in anything beyond the chance for prime-time fame. Fox is developing the show with Endemol USA, the company behind "Big Brother," "Deal or No Deal" and "Fear Factor." |

Reality tv has gotten out of control! Makes me not want to watch anymore.
But don't tell that to my reality tv, loving mom.
