Re: Glenn admits lying about suspension

Maybe I missed it, but I don't see where it says he lied to team officials. He admits to lying to reporters, and I couldn't care less about that. At this time, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt while also trusting that the Skins did their due diligence before the draft by looking into this matter.

The FO said that they specifically talked to Nebraska's coach about the issue. So, although we are in the dark about what he did, the FO is not.

Well, if the FO had drafted him without knowing the cause of the suspension, it would be flat out negligence. I don't think that's the issue. The issue is the way the kid handled it.

"I didn't mean to confuse anyone." HA! Then why did you flat out lie? Would it have been so hard to say "it was a matter between Coach Pelini and myself, and it has been handled." I mean come on.

This pick was a head scratcher when we made it IMO. He's played all of 9 games at LB in his entire life, and he's obviously got character red flags. Now it looks worse obviously.

It's my understanding we didn't have any O-lineman rated as starters when we took Barnes in the 3rd. OK. I'll buy that. I'm cool with the Barnes pick. But you mean to tell me we didn't have any O-lineman rated higher than this dude in the 5th round??

Great point, I was pulling for Duke Robinson at that point and was floored by this pick..???

I couldn't agree with you more. Meredeth and Robinson were on the board and instead we took Glenn? The FO didn't check this guy thoroughly, and on top of that he wasn't the best available OLB, but we'll see if he produces.

Just because ESPN or whatever ranks those other players higher, doesn't mean they are better. NFL teams know more about these guys than the media. Its a fifth round pick. No players are really looking that good coming out of the fifth round.

This guy was a running back for most of college and only played 9 games at linebacker. He showed some flashes in those games, but he is very inexperienced. I don't know if he is going to get good or not, but I'll give the Redskins the benefit of the doubt. The Redskins draft picks have been pretty good lately, (they just haven't had enough of them) so I actually sort of trust them when it comes to players they actually draft.

I am quite surprised this did not set off another 10 pages rehashing the early 2000's

I couldn't agree with you more! If Buges had seen a lineman he wanted in the 5th round...he would have gotten picked! Herman Jihnson is projected as a G since he doesn't have the feet/agility to be a T. Maybe the Todd Wade experiment was enough for us to give up on the concept of 6'8" guards. Bottom line, this guy was picked to be a special teams contributor (Khary Campbell hasn't re-signed). If he eventually turns into starting material, unlikely,...that would be an unexpected bonus. Some of these other "fans" need to get over their "get an OL at any cost/any reach" complex!!!!!
