If we get Washington that could spell the end for Thrash. Washington does the same exact things only younger and cheaper. Thrash dropped a good number of passes last year also. I was watching the Eagles and Giants games from last year recently and he dropped big 3rd down throws in both games. Catches that should have been made to convert and move the chains. I know he's a cult hero and all but he's not really a viable option anymore.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Plus Thrash is 34 years old. I wonder though, if he stays healthy I would definitely prefer Hacket but Washington is also pretty good when he gets a chance to play. Bascially Hacket has more potential but Washington is the safer pick since Hacket has a hard time staying healthy.

Yeah you could be right. It might be the end of the road for Thrash. But I'm not sure why Washington hasn't stuck on with anyone and had a big season catching the football. I remember he was a stud coming out of Tenn.

I really hope that Thrash doesn't make the team. The fact that he was a starting receiver for us last year was embarrassing.

I actually think Hackett has the better shot to be a contributor in 2009. Not sure how he is on special teams, but the combination of his size and experience with Zorn/WCO sets up a nice hedge in case the struggles continue for Kelly and Thomas. He could turn into a solid possession receiver for us potentially.

Last year around this time I was all for signing Hackett, as were a bunch of folks here.

Good point... but with a past With Zorn and this offense could help the younger receivers as well. I remember a year or so ago all on this web site were hot and bothered about trying to get Hackett in free agency... It would of been expensive!

Now we get a useful WR in an offense he knows at a good price. Good move as of right now. He has not lit up the league like some thought but could be productive in this system and help the young wonder twins (kelly, Thomas)
You know like " I wonder when these two guys will start producing..."

Thrash has been a solid Redskin special teamer/ great locker room guy (backup #4 WR for spot duty) having him at the #3 WR spot was a failure, I agree.

Thrash is coming of surgery this off season. I do not see him making the team this season in any capacity.
