I think it can be very important. Yes, they play a team sport, but that does not by itself make a "team". Team spirit or esprit de corps can play a huge factor in a team's success, so if this helps, great!

I have never corrected spelling or grammar before...I don't think. Something about reading that word without an s on it was driving me crazy. Didn't mean to nit pick.
