Re: Poll: Pick a knucklehead

I would NOT trade Malcolm Kelly or Fred Davis in a potential Marshall deal. The highest I would go is Devin Thomas and a third rounder.

You would rather have Kelly over Thomas? I agree about Davis. I think he is a stud and may be more talented than Cooley.

Of course.

I should re-phrase: I'd do Kelly for Marshall straight up. No additional compensation. Of course, that limits Denver's desire to take that trade.

THANK YOU !!!!

I swear I get sick and tired of every excuse in the world thrown out there for Jason Campbell. He doesn't have a line but there is enough of a line for Portis to go over 1,000. The Defense needs to give him better chances by creating turnovers. I mean let's be serious. And I say that to say this, it would be Vick. You could get me all the receivers in the world but until we have someone that will throw that ball then it won't matter. I'd love to have Brandon but if you won't throw the ball then there's no point. Get me Vick, so the guys I have now can feel as though the ball might come their way when they run down the field.

Re: Poll: Pick a knucklehead

I certainly don't feel a trade for Marshall is right for us at this time, but it's not often that a guy of his age & ability is on the market. So, you have to think the skins are looking into it.

Denver saved us from ourselves once this spring by demanding a high price for cutler, so expect them to ask for a lot for marshall. Plus, he wants a new deal for big $. I don't know what kind of cap & bankroll situtation the cowpokes have, but JJ will test the waters I'm sure. The g men might have the cap space & would be smart to try & get him.

Re: Poll: Pick a knucklehead

How about this guy?

Donte Stallworth of Cleveland Browns reaches financial agreement with family of victim Mario Reyes - ESPN

Marshall is probably the best of the three, but he'd also cost the most. And we just invested, fairly heavily, on young receivers. We need to get away from the mentality of giving up on young players just to trade more picks to replace those players. We don't know that Thomas and Kelly will be successful for us, but we'll never find out if we don't give them a chance.

Plax, at least, should cost less. But I wouldn't take him either for the same reasons listed above.

Gun to my head, I'll pick up Vick (and take my chances with PETA, Betty White, and Bob Barker), hope he regains some value and use him as trade bait next off-season.

I'm glad the family is being financially taken care of, but only 30 days in jail?? You can get drunk and run a guy over and only spend a month in jail? Wow.

Well, given the crazy ass moves that Josh "I was a Teenage Coach*" McDaniels, maybe he would.

*Trademark Gregg Easterbrook. LOL.

I won't start a thread over the double standard of the lack of outcry for Stallworth to be banned for life from football when he took a human's life vs. the Vick outcry, but yeah I was stunned to see 30 days in jail, plus 2 years house arrest (in which he can still play football, of course) and probation.

Seriously. Kill some dogs, get 2 years in federal prison. Kill a man, get 30 days in the state lockup. That's a joke.

I think the biggest difference, is the immediate remorse. Remember, Vick was basically dragged kicking and screaming into court, denying and delaying as long as possible. Seems to me like Stallworth "man upped" and accepted responsibility. In the courts eyes that often times makes a huge difference in sentencing.

Without completely hijacking the thread, what Stallworth did was unintentional. When the accident happened he stopped, took full responsibility and cooperated with police. Goodell hasn't metted out any punishment yet, but I would like to see some sort of suspension for a significant time. 30 days in jail for DUI manslaughter sounds like a very light sentence.

What Vick did was completely intentional, cold-hearted and sick and happened over a period of years. He lied to the Falcons and NFL about it. It's not like Vick got drunk and ran into a dog pound accidently.

Ah yes, Vick would be a much better passing option than JC.....

Can you imagine Vick starting for us last year? Receivers running the wrong routes, the line breaking down, and Vick at the helm? It would've looked like the Keystone Kops out there.

Not only that, but we would've likely been in position to draft Sanchez (ugh) rather than have Orakpo fall to us.
