Would we go with only 2 QBs?

The redskins must have a whole new outlook on Campbell this season.

Now that would surprise me. I think both played well enough to show 3rd string/developmental quality.

At the same time, the team may not think either will ever develop into a starter that would garner trade bait (My best case scenario had JC becoming a probowler with Colt/Chase flashing starter ability in a year or two, then pulling a Matt Shaub/Matt Cassel type deal for them). If we actually needed an emergency QB, ARE could play and while VC and crew burned up the lines to find an experienced vet to fill in for a longer time if necessary. Frankly, if our season comes down to the play of the 3rd string QB, we are already cooked.

The team might be thinking that they want to keep the 53rd slot for another position player or ST guy. Quite frankly, if true, I think it is good news for the Mason Maniacs.

I agree that this makes a lot of sense. And it would certainly open up room on the roster for other positions. RB definitely comes to mind, and maybe LB

Well, the 3rd string QB hardly does anything but learn the offense and look good in uniform except being an insurance policy.

That said Mort is an idiot. Colts on IR, which means Chase will be 3rd.

JReid at WP just said he confirmed Chase will not be 3rd.

True. I never said I wasn't, but it takes one to know one. LOL.

Ok, so it's confirmed. The team is going to try to keep Chase as a PS member. Nothing shocking there, I think we all could have predicted that. Is there anyway possible Colt could come off the IR in like 4-6 wks and be our #3 or is he automatically out for the yr?

If not then I guess the team is just trying to juggle all the decent talent.

IR means you are out for the year.

Yes. That is why I am surprised that they didn't put Colt on the PUP list. Either Colt is really hurt, they really are leery of him, or both.

Going into thursday nights' game there was no mention of any lingering injury affecting Colt. Both Colt and Zorn had declared him fit and ready to play. Now we are lead to believe he's had a hip injury that's been bothering him since the Ravens game. Fishey maybe!!
