I don't have hostilty towards you (or Colt). True, the drug testing remark was insulting and for it I apologize. My responses are more the result of shocked amazement about the your claims of Colt's seemingly mythical abilities - comparing him to a first ballot HOF'er when he hasn't played a regular season down. Really, I got no hate for you, just the stunned amazement of an onlooker saying - "Did he really just say that???"

My criticism of your remarks, however, is not 'senseless". You make broad claims for Colt's physical abilities that are simply unsupported. You claim that his "leadership" qualities seem to outweigh his physical limitations by some almost magical quality. It's just not there. Before he can lead, he's got to show he can play and he simply hasn't done that at this level. He may eventually someday, but all he has shown so far is limited potential to be a quality back up.

Again, for me to take your faith in Colt seriously, I really would like to know the basis for your claim that he has "remarkable physical ability".

A "reliable source" told me he can juggle 3 pineapples at the same time. I actually think CB can be a good QB but it's all up to how he progresses. Time will tell. Ryan Leaf had a chance to be a good QB too.

I agree. He just isn't now and doesn't look like he will be either this year (obviously) or next.

Apology accepted. My perception about his physical abilities - his exceptional accuracy, his nimbleness in the pocket under pressure, ability to throw very well from off balance or awkward stances, his very quick release, and his perfectly adequate and still improving arm strength - those are physical qualities that I was referring to.

No offense but...

To me Colt's ability to "throw very well from off balance" actually is an indication of poor footwork.

His arm strength is not "perfectly adequate." It is a problem that he really needs to work on badly and likely it will always be one of his limitations.

I would add that you failed to mention his poor arm mechanics, in terms of that sidearm release. You also failed to mention that his passes lack arc, making those bloop passes when you drop the ball over the head of a linebacker difficult if not impossible for him.

And these are just some of his physical limitations. Don't get me started on the mental ones.

I would definitely agree with that. The fact that he seems to throw off balance so often is a big red flag that is footwork is seriously lacking. Overall I've never been that impressed with his overall mechanics as a QB. Unconventional is the nice way to put it I guess. Every time I see him play I just don't understand the love affair some seem to have.

Colts arm strength is below average for "nfl standards". At fan appreciation day, I watched as both of the Qb's were taking turns throwing similar routes. JC's I would describe as a laser, its almost like he is throwing downhill, and it takes very little effort. Colt's Id describe as lollipops, because he had to throw it that much higher to hit the same spot on the route. Colt does have some "gunslinger" in him ala Favre, but like the others have said, Favre has/had a cannon. Your physical abilities only take you so far in the NFL, the great Qb's clearly have a mental edge. Only time will tell if he and/or JC have that "it" that makes ordinary into extraordinary. JC has all the tools, nothing more physical you could ask for, other than learning how to slide. Colt has a long ways to go, to overcome his physical limitations he will have to work that much harder, and be that much smarter.

I will say that I felt like he took a step forward in the last preseason game, hopefully that carries over into next year. His postgame comment of "yeah baby, no interceptions" gives me hope that he understands the turnovers arent worth the risks. Give be steady before flashy anyday.
