Zorn has to take the shackles off of Campbell, put him in shotgun with 4wide sets, and I believe he will do much better. Again, the playcalling Sunday was pathetic IMO, and thats the bigger problem that needs to be addressed.

Could not agree more... Zorn is so predictable in his play calling overall, especially in the run game... then, only trying a pass over 20+ one time in the game, NEVER stretching the defense to get them off of Portis...

Between that, and the other GLARING fact from yesterday...

Anyone else notice the HUGE CHASM between Eli Manning & Jason Campbell? One QB reads the defense every play, scanning, and audibling to a play that will take advantage of the defense, whereas Campbell look like a deer in the headlights at the line sometimes, then making terrible audible call the one time I saw he did it (a -3 yd run).

Add in the that their D-Line is just flat out too strong & fast for our line, and I'm thinking we were lucky to score 17.

This fact is almost as glaring as the defense's mistakes from yesterday. It's sort of mind-boggling how the offense goes back to the same form entirely regardless of who is calling plays or what kind of scheme we're supposed to be running. Under Gibbs we constantly ran to the left on 1st and 2nd then a lousy and predictable pass play. Under Gibbs/Saunders it continued. And now under Zorn, even when JC is 8 for 11, we return to that terrible pattern: run left, run left, pass play w/ lousy and predictable routes (routes that often have the WR catching the ball in front of the LOS ). That's what is sticking w/ me from yesterday's game. I expected the defense to be underwhelming cuz GTripp has convinced me Blache's scheme is a real problem. What I also expected was a nice surprise from the offense. Zorn has me worried at this point.

I've backed Zorn since he's been here but he's starting to lose me. I am so f**king tired of conservative offense's I could puke. The 2nd play with ARE wasn't conservative but it sure was stupid and that isn't much better. Hopefully he'll adjust his playcalling and start looking like a genius, right now he looks more like Alfred E. Neuman than Albert Einstein and it pisses me off that these "Professional" HC's take so damn long to figure things out. Okay. Now. I fully expect adjustments to be made and for us to look a whole lot smoother and cohesive against the Rams. Hopefully we win a few games and get the offense in gear in time to peak going into the playoffs.

He has to open it up and use all 7 receivers, mix it up. I seriously believe that Kelly, Thomas, Mitchell and Davis are ready to contribute, stop making every pass to Santana. Look at Aaron Rodgers he let's it fly. We won't know what we got unless we use them.

Personally I would have benched Moss and put Mitchell or DT in. I think they're ready to contribute too but they're not being given much of a chance so far.

Yep, I would consider making Mitchell my #4 receiver and demote Thomas to #5 (maybe it will light a fire under his ass). Santana would benefit in the slot (occasionally) with his speed along with ARE.

Exactly! I would have benched him and made him earn a spot back. He'd have to return punts first of all. If he took one to the head and got his act together, I'd put him at slot.

I have been thinking that exact same thing. It's difficult for me to comprehend, Thomas, Kelly and Davis at this stage of their development cannot get on the field for substantial time and make a contribution. It's difficult for young players when they only get a play here and there. They need to know they have a role in the offense to feel they belong.
