I remember a time when such a tribual ordeal would have been buried in an in-between colum of very fine print virtually overlooked. This new age of 24/7 rhetoric is a monster.

Back in the 80s and even the 90s we might not have even heard about it. The media/fan frenzy for constant info really is pretty ridiculous these days.

I believe Dan Hellie said it best as a guest on SportsTalk 980 - media outlets in this town that reduce their coverage of the Skins always see a subsequent slip in their ratings. Washington devotes more coverage to the Skins than arguably any other NFL city does for their team.
