Re: Updated/Merged: Shanahan Rumors (Will He or Won't He?)

I personally have always liked Jon Gruden. Seems like he stated before that he patterned his offense around aspects of Joe Gibbs' offense (I remember hearing that but don't remember where.) He's a fiery coach who would definitely get his players excited to play. I was disappointed in his Tampa Bay teams in the past few years, but if it did have to do with the team being a little too frugal in the spending department, then I can see how that would limit Gruden's talent. Of course, seems like New England doesn't spend a lot and always seems to keep ticking along, so that shows you how much I know about free agency spending. But the long and short of it is, I just want a good seasoned veteran coach who can stay with the team for a long time. Gruden is young and has won a Super Bowl before. Gibbs was out of the league for way too long to really be effective, and Shotty has never been to the big dance.

I don't know...I just don't want this team losing anymore.
