Re: Zorn to stop calling plays

Regardless of who calls the plays we're looking at a team stuck in low gear, and watching them play is comparable to serving a life sentence without parole. No matter how well you behave you're never going to get out.

I hope this isn't the case. I believe that a creative playcaller (not with gadgets, but one who calls the game and not his playsheet) can make a huge turnaround in this offense. The only problem of course is we wasted our soft schedule to prove that Zorn can't do it.

But it seems as though it will be Lewis anyway, no surprise. I'm curious as to what Zorn will do now. They want him to be more of a "head coach" and work with the QB they say. But at this point, what work is there to do with the QB? I mean you just benched him, although he should start next week, and you've been working with him for well over a year now. Often, it seems, at the expense of other areas of the team. Unless working with the QB means Colt Brennan/Andre Woodson? As for being more of a "head coach" I suspect that means making key decisions such as "punt or go for it on 4th down", but do we trust Zorn to make those decisions? I don't know

I of course want us to win next week, but it's probably just time to put Zorn out of his complete misery.

LOL it's a total mess right now isn't it?

An outsider who's been with the team for a few weeks is now calling the plays?? It's cluster F time at Redskins Park.

And it's only getting worse. We're going to get TROUNCED against some of these heavyweight teams ahead on the schedule.

The headline needs to read: Cerrato discharged from his duties, Snyder agrees to hire a real GM. GM hires new coach, Snyder agrees to relenquish control to the football gods.

It's useless to continue putting band-aids on cancer. Until the people responsible for the state of this team are supplanted, we'll continue trying to find ways to remain optomistic, and openly embrace futility.

And our RT has'nt played football for 3 or 4 years. Our HC only has experience as a QB coach and his OC only has experience as a RB coach. Our owner makes personell decisions. Our best DE plays LB. Our receivers coach has developed NO ONE. We are the mighty Redskins!

Actually our play calling may improve if the process were:

"It's 3rd and 7, let's pick a ball out of a hat...let's run B-29!"

But, he has to be an improvement over Zorn.

At least the Philly D won't be ready for every predictable playcall from Zorn.

Any opposing coach - "3rd down and 8 on the 12 yard line? Zorn's calling the stretch to the left, be ready!"

Really, it can't be worse. We may have a chance to win next week.

If the Raiders can beat Philly, so can we.

Re: Zorn to stop calling plays

Wasn't this probably the idea when Vinny brought Lewis in to begin with? He's had what..1-2 weeks to get caught up with what's going on here? Maybe it will help.

Re: Zorn to stop calling plays

So let's get this straight, bringing in Lewis, now making him the play-caller, this is all on Vinny... right?

This smells of a bad "B" movie, THE REPLACEMENTS.
