He's been out of football for 5 years and he's 67 years old. I think that pretty much sums it.

Was the play caller for 7 years in Green Bay, Offense almost always finished in the top 6. Granted he had a smart play caller in Holmgren supporting him (doesn't have that here it seems). Didn't have quite the same success in Minnesota or Detroit.

But look, I don't want to veer this conversation too far off course but this guy was one of the most respected football minds in the league and he could have been a coach somewhere but the cold, hard truth is there was no Rooney Rule in place for him.

As for his age being a factor, tell that to Dan Henning.
