Heyer was horrible on Sunday. I thought he and Vrabel were auditioning for dancing with the stars.

Heyer was playing out of position on Sunday. The plays he got beaten on were technique issues. If he's playing where he belongs at RT, those plays don't happen. Any bad plays he made, I blame the coaching staff for.

I think the play with Vrabel was against MW. And he absolutely whiffed on that play. Never put your head down, or that's what happens.

Heyer is a professional, he could have -- and should have -- played much better than what he did. Vrabel beat him at least three of four times with a straight line to Campbell.

Heyer certainly should've played better, but the mechanics are completely switched going from RT to LT. I said before the game, and I stand by it 100%, the line should've been left intact with Batiste staying at LT. When you shuffle folks around the line it creates confusion in blitz pick-ups also. If there was only a weakness at LT, that can be minimized with protections and playcalls. You move people around the OL you screw up everything.

According to Jim Zorn, LT is his "natural" position.

He naturally sucks at it then. Get him out of the lineup altogether.

Im all for playing Lorenzo Alexander at a tackle position over Heyer.

At this point...why not try Renaldo Wynn at OT too.

Good one!

Realistically though...did any of us think Heyer was a legit starting LT?
I expected him to give up a couple sacks...and he apparantly did.
I didn't watch the game for the first time in years.
I choose to be happy again.

Levi Jones will start after the bye...I guarantee it.
Heyer aint a horrible RT though.
We basically now have 4 Tackles that are very similar...they all kinda SUCK
Its just that Levi probably sucks less than the others...assuming he knew the playbook!
(excluding Samuals of course)

The front office apparently did. Heyer was an undrafted free agent. Most of us probably figured he would be a backup, someone who could hold up for a game or two -- but certainly not a full-time starter. What the fans correctly see as a stop-gap measure, the front office wrongly sees as a long term answer.

Yet again, guess who was right?

Just re-emphasized my point.

His natural position is on his back with his legs up in the air, like Madonna.

Williams played very well on Sunday. The Jones move could send Heyer to the pine. Too bad for the young runners, but the way this teams makes moves they could be brought back again.
