"Hey guys, look at me, I can play Safety, I promise! Come on coach, just put me in!!"
What is this, 6th grade?! He's going to have to get over the fact he just isn't going to cut it in the NFL.

Matty:
I might argue that signing Carrier was far worse than bringing Couch in for a look. There is a low probability that Couch will make it as a safety; I grant you that. Carrier on the other hand was a "proven player" and what he had actually "proven" was that he was through/finished/kaput/over/done/take your pick here. There was really no chance he would be a significant help to a decent team at that point of his career. I am not saying that Couch is even part of the answer for the Chiefs' miserable defense; he isn't. But he is a zero cost option. He's sort of like the guys that the Redskins signed just after the season was over and they could expand the roster. Most of them are longshots to do anything more than act as cannon-fodder for special teams' practices in training camp. But they don't cost anything...
